Had a procedure done at Cape Town Mediclinic yesterday. The reception staff was lovely & very accommodating. I was taken up to a general ward where I was shown to my bed. My procedure was to take place at 1.30. I was a the hospital from 11am. The nurse did all the necessary tests that needed to be done & there I was just chilling. A theatre nurse came & said are you ready for your procedure. I had no hospital gown on, is that not part of procedure when you get admitted? The head nurse came & then got someone to bring me a gown. I was then taken down to theatre. My experience in theatre with the doctors & nurses was a good one. I had a bit of pain after the procedure & the nurse attended to me very quickly in recovery. I was then taken up to the general ward again. After my procedure I was told that I could go home within a few hours . We sat & sat & waited but not a single nurse came in to communicate as to what was happening. I was brought something to eat & drink & I asked the one nurse will doctor be coming to do a follow up & she said yes. Eventually it was about 7pm when my husband asked the nurse if we can go home & she said yes, didn't anyone tell you that if she ate & went to urinate, she could go home. I got dressed, had to call someone to remove my drip & walked in pain to the nurses desk where they were all having a fat chat . Oblivious to there patients. Is it not procedure to have a porter escorts a patient out of the hospital? Non of this was done. So in essence..The hospital is nice yes, the doctors are lovely , yes but some of the nursing staff needs to learn to communicate better with their patients & not assume that there patients know everything that there is to know. If I were to go back to another hospital it would not be cape town mediclinic. I would chose a net care hospital over & above. Very dissapointing to have to experience this.

Very bad hospital for Europeans. They let me suffering there without any treatment for hours because they do not accept European insurances. At the end, they gave me a bill of 1630 RAND, but they did not treat me? A real disgrace and not being worth of being a hospital to help people who are in danger.

Nobody likes going to hospital but the Cape Town Medi Clinic is our place of choice. Had both children there. Hubby had a brain tumour removed and healthy today. Many minor ops done there and always professional, caring, efficient. Some doctors obviously have better bed side manners than others, but overall grateful we have such a top facility in town.

I have applied for more then 40 ppst within this year 2017 I have never been invited to any interview I always get reaponse "we regret to inform you your application unsuccessful" thats so sad because your requirement its only grade 12 which I have more than that and I stand a good chance becuase im working in a Medical Practice,I so badly wanted to work for Mediclinic but infornutanely its not meant for men

Came here with a serious ongoing lower back pain injury, after doing scans at hospital (CB). Completely ignored after my checkup, as if I'm imagining things and referred to yet another doctor who teaches you about "good posture". Almost two years later, still having the same pain from time to time, in exactly the same spot on my spine! Seriously, don't ever waste your time here.

I gave birth in October 2016. The night staff was a total nightmare. Heard them discussing me while they thought I was asleep. I didn't even ring the bell to get their help, so I didn't see why this was necessary. My hubby was by my side the entire day. The day shift however, was extremely good.

I spent a total of two months at this Mediclinic, and I can quite honestly say they saved my life. Twice. Not only from a medical point of view, but the care and compassion of the Sisters and Nurses both in ICU and F Ward were life changing. They went above and beyond what was required of them, providing me with such tender emotional support.
