A lovely, uncomplicated little gem with friendly, welcoming staff and good country-style food. The shop has a delightful selection of unusual things as well as a wide variety of preserves, jams, honeys and the like. The little church itself is well worth a visit.
The best tea garden in the world! A gem worth visiting. Good wholesome home cooking!
Can easily be missed, look out for church sign going out of VanReenen on right.
Excellent stop for whatever. Was very intrigued by the antique shop attached to the complex. The little church is also a "must see".
We arrived when they were about to close the kitchen. Some of the food on the menu wasn't available more. The food that was available was small portions of food but very tasty. I was in awe about the little church. Simply beautiful.
I really like this country restaurant at the top of van Reenen's Pass. Situated just beyond the smallest church in South Africa it is placed in a picturesque landscape. It has a simple but good menu and serves Travellers and local people especially on Sundays..children are welcome. There is also an adjacent antique shop.
Loved it. More importantly the food is great. Can stretch your legs and chill. The food is home made. No grease fast food. Only down side is you have to stop again for petrol. Well done Guys
We had a great breakfast on our way down to the coast. Eggs was soft, bacon was crispy Everything exactly like we ordered. Will recommend this to everyone who travels between Jhb - Durban. Service is good and a nice place to stop quickly.
Fantastic little road side stop. Great food. Interesting views and history to see.
I loved this place! The owner is so friendly! She is such a lovely lady. The waitresses all looked so happy. The food was so delicious! Ordered lovely scones and a pot of tea. It was so fresh. I also loved the homely feeling about it. The fireplace, photos on walls, lots of history and a motherly touch. Not to mention the views! Just stunning. Seriously recommended! But don't rush. Come there to sit down and have a lovely winter breakfast with the family.
Beautiful surroundings, friendly and prompt service and excellent food.
Was very serene and the view was spectacular. Everything served tasted really good.
Nice vibe. Excellent quiche. Good coffee. I'll stop here again. Several local ambulance drivers and paramedics were eating here. Tells you something
The Little Church Tea Garden becomes more delightful every time I stop there. Geraldine and Malcolm make their visitors feel so welcome and the food is delicious, home made and generous portions.
There is a little play area for small children, dogs are welcome, there is a dish with fresh water available.
I always feel good when I come from there, a lovely break in the journey
A favourite stopover for many travellars and holiday makers. If you wish for something different than the normal fast food chains dotting the N3 highway then this is for you. Not clearly marked so keep your eyes open for the turn off. Staff seems to be a bit overwhelmed during the holiday crunch and they may even be out of cake but well worth the stop. Fantastic view and the historic Little Church makes it all the more memorable.
