The rooms and breakfast were fantastic, not to mention the breathtaking mountains and surrounds. Wine tasting was excellent and also their conference facilities.Highly recommended!

Stayed for one night in their family area (two rooms) which was actually excellent, spacious, clean with great views over the lake and mountains. Housekeeping did ask if we had everything, but only found out when we went to bed the sofa bed wasn’t big enough for two teenage children and that we only had 5 duvets for 6 of us
The service in the restaurant area was poor and just felt like they didn’t care that much and were more interested in staff/friends at the bar
We did wine tasting in the afternoon – a selection of 4 wines were eventually poured with no description or any comment at all. About 10 minutes later a friendly young waiter came over and asked if they had been described, which he then did after apologising. Needless to say even though the wine was lovely we didn’t buy any.
Had a similar experience in the evening for dinner. The food was excellent, the waitress pleasant and apologetic, but it should not take nearly an hour to get starters out in virtually empty restaurant (there were no more than 4 other tables)
Breakfast was great, but beware if staying Saturday nights as the busy road outside is used as a racetrack by motorbikes Sunday mornings!
Overall I could not recommend which is a shame, as would take very little to make it amazingresponse / report this review -

Well, you would need to check out this Lilith gem on your way to Franschoek. The Chef Reg Smith makes it his business to visit each and every table to chat to his Customers and the food especially the pork belly is absolutely stunning. It has a fireplace to warm you on a cold winters day and has inside and outside seating. Homely good food and value for money. Small attraction for kids and a play park.

Most amazing tasting food in Franschhoek, thank you to the Head Chef Reg Smith he makes the worlds best tasting pork belly, traveling around a lot, not many places come even close to matching the pork belly on their menu, it is a MUST have, service is pure love, also a special thanks to Jacqueline who manages the resort and restaurant, always so accommodating and helpful, from any service I have EVER received Jacqueline is by fur surpassing all expectations, she has got a beautiful loving caring heart and for that I will always be loyal to Le Pommier!

We went to Le Pommier for a nice quiet Sunday lunch. First of all, when we got there at 1pm, the staff were still setting the tables. While the service was ok, the food was ok, although we were served a pudding that had been heated in a microwave! However, there was a TV showing the rugby, which was distracting. And then the tourist tour buses started arriving and it got very loud and noisy. If you are looking for a nice quiet venue for a Sunday lunch, best to skip Le Pommier.

We did the wine tasting of their 4 wines and had lunch afterwards. What a good experience. A big fire in the fireplace kept the winter cold at bay and their pork ribs are to die for. Very friendly staff. Will be back in Spring to enjoy their outdoor eating area.
