We love Bossa Somerset West.
Was at Stellenbosch today for lunch and sadly left extremely unhappy!! Ribs very tough almost like wine gums, salad didnt seem fresh and the chicken wings on promo didnt look anything like the picture. A very disappointing experience.

I actually had a good experience here (good food, decent service) up until we were leaving, when the lady asked us to write a Google review to get a free coffee. Not cool!

I'm pretty sure this is against Google Terms of Service, and isn't right. This is why they have 10x the number of reviews of any other place! So I would take other reviews with a pinch of salt.

Unfortunately no wow factor, standard bossa. We feel that the waiters need more etiquette training, as they were speaking directly over the food when asking who's order this was. The liquor prices did not correspond to the advert boards, but the manager corrected the prices after we spoke to him. Other than that, the place was kept neat and tidy

Excellent vibe, great food. We really enjoy their burgers, and favour them frequently when it is time to choose! This is a very popular place for after work drinks, so it is very popular in the week, but due to the layout of the restaurant, it is family friendly at the same time!

The owners, husband and wife of this restaurant, seems to be doing a great job at keeping the service top notch! Would also like to personally tell the chefs, well done!! As the saying goes, a business is only as good as the one operating it.

Ilse the waitress always serves my table, as I also always ask her opinion on what to eat, and as it happened with every dish she referred, I end up leaning supper impressed and stuffed, not having space for pudding. "as pudding is my thing" so now I can't wait to try that eventually!

I Will defiantly refer this place! I am now on a mission to try something new every time on that menu..

Nothing special. The beer (Newlands Spring Jacobs Ale) tasted old, and the banting burger wasn't really anything to write home about. Better than La Romantica though.

Crowded at times, no non smoking area and really unpleasant trying to enjoy your food with the horrible smell of cigarette smoke everywhere.

Not great staff at all.

“Best to avoid this place”

After many years of not going there due to the declining quality, I took my work team for a quick lunch since it is close to our offices.

What a mistake: waitresses were nowhere to be seen, and halfway through our meal, one of my colleagues noticed a piece of burnt string in his pizza. He took it to the front desk, and eventually a waitress (not even the manager) came and informed him it was a piece of a mop that they had used to clean the pizza oven.

At least they had the good grace of deducting the one pizza from the bill, however best to avoid this place altogether.
