Hotel is actually closed down for renovations which were needed. Otherwise when we stayed few weeks ago all was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful. Just need to be careful if walking in the surroundings at night.

Friendly front desk staff, however that's where the positives end. The hotel is so outdated, the lift is a joke and does not work correctly and they still even have the old box TV in each room with very limited channels to watch. The website paints a totally different picture to reality. I will never stay there again. Overall looks like no maintenance is ever done or any care to the hotel!!!

This hotel is perfectly situated, and although the rooms are old, they are spacious, and well-equipped! Staff are very friendly and helpful. The views around make for a pleasant stay if you spend quite a bit of time in the rooms. The windows (outside) could really do with a clean though!!

Worst place in Cape Town, most unfriendly staff also! Lifts out of order, aircons NOT WORKING Temp inside rooms +/-32degrees!! With no opening windows as well! When complained, were moved to different room with exactly same problem, no solution! Genl Manager (female ,very arrogant and rude, wrong person to put in charge of any hotel)as well as short little bearded guy???assistant ???arrived,stunned to hear them say, if you don't like you not welcome,please leave! 22h30 at night???

Very warm and inviting. Friendly staff the housekeeping is prompt. It could do with some renovations/maintenance though. I could hear people in the next room and would be awakened by their showers. I would still come back to the hotel.

Great location. Great value. Nice and clean. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. The TV is pretty dated but then you don't come to Cape Town to stay in your room and watch TV.

The hotel sucks!We were there as family to attend my daughters graduation who is at UCT.When my daughter came to visit us,she couldn't be allowed in our room and we had to meet her at the reception like a stranger,noooo!! The management were not friendly and treated me and my family like criminals.I will never set my foot in this hotel,it was my first and last.Pathetic place😡

Took my money of R1900 even thoughi was only in the room for literally 3 minutes, I didnt even put my bag down, I was not happy with the room and decided to go somewhere else. I did not reserve the room in advance and and was a "walk in" client. I would have understood the charge had I reserved the room in advance and can understand that there may have been sumone else who could have rented the room in the time I reserved it but it was not reserved I walked in and paid for the room upfront before I was shown the room and only after I paid was I made aware that only the guests staying at the hotel were allowed in the rooms and all other visitors if the guest needed to meet in the foyer/ reception area, had I known that before, I would never have paid for the room in the first place. But I was still charged the full rate even though I didnt stay at the hotel. I also called later on in the evening anonymously just to inquire if there was any rooms available and was told that they were fully booked which means that they had rented the room that I had paid for already to someone else effectively earning double income for that one room for that evening

Affordable. No smoking inside the hotel. Breakfast is served in a seperate restaurant. Central to everything in Cape Town city and train station. Airport transfers available

Hotel is dated and needs an upgrade. A clear lack of facilities and the check-in feels as if you are booking into a boarding house and not a three star hotel. The rooms are run down and the furnishings are in a poor condition and the hotels key card system no longer works. The beds are uncomfortable, hard and don't offer a good night's sleep. The bathrooms are disgusting and are stuck in the 80's with piece removed and poor quality maintenance. The towels are like old dish rags and and seem to be as old as the hotel.

Wonderful service! We were the in juli 2016. Simple but clean rooms and close to the waterfront with a nice view.
