This place is a favourite amongst locals. The vibe and the ocean view is Hops' signature attraction. The staff are very friendly, but don't expect Butler level service, it is a bar after all. The food never fails to deliver and is more often than not, better than it's price would suggest. Only on the busiest of days (Christmas, New Years Day etc) might you find you'll have to wait a while for a table.

Hops is a frequent favourite of ours and I would highly suggest it if you're looking for a great place to eat.

Revamped, Clean, Right on Beach in Ballito central to everything, service great, live bands, friendly staff, food was awesome when we visited.

They allowed us to bring our doggie in onto the deck, no problems.

I would have given 5 Stars if dumpies (beers/ciders) were ice cold. I would recommend asking for an ice bucket to pop a few in there on your table!

Good food, good service, good vibe from locals. Always a good sign to find many locals in a "holiday" venue. I saw many old reviews that were not kind to this restaurant. If you rated less than 3 stars a year or more ago, go again. The place has been revamped and has some of the cleanest restrooms that I have recently seen.

Hi great venue ate there before and lamb curry excellent. Today curry meat not up to standard. Buyér must check quality of meat is consistently good from supplier. Staff good. Friendly efficient etc. Don't let lapse in meat quality chase customers away. New revamp good marketing. Regards Bob

I have been visiting Hops for many years when I take the annual weeks vacation in Ballito.Usually one of my special pleasures here - especially the live music 3 or 4 days a week. Not this time. The place has totally been revamped and the wooden friendly character of the place is completely gone - to be replaced with tiles, bright lights and no stage for the musicians. The acoustics are terrible and the floor is just one large flat surface with no levels or nooks. Difficult to understand - but I suppose more tables and chairs - more money. The food is still good, but Spur now has more atmosphere than the new Hops

Was there on a stop from a work engagement, so needed service fast before going off back to work. The staff were attentive, understanding and delivered. The coffee was ok. The view is spectacular. Highly recommended.

Located right on the beach. Offers outdoor seating with views of the passers-by, beach and ocean. Laid-back atmosphere, plenty of parking. We stopped for pizza which was very good.

Good spot to go for a beer or pub lunch. Right on the beach, with great views. Staff are very friendly and they have a variety of beers on tap.

Bar tender had a terrible attitude. Did not greet after i had greeted. I was hoping to get a quick bite but this service like that will never recommend or visit this place again

This was my go-to spot for breakfast, lunch and supper. The service is amazing and the food is exactly what you need after being on the beach. I will treasure my memories of Hops and hopefully I will be back soon. Keep up the good work guys.
