This Automark dealership is the definition of why second hand dealerships get a bad name.

Bought a vehicle from them beginning of November 2017 - against my better judgement the sales person convinced me that a proper Dekra test was not necessary due to their "Automark" process.

Within the first week the vehicle had to go back for issues with items that were checked off on their "Automark" checklist. (so much for that being a proper test)

A month later - the gearbox started giving issues, and the vehicle had to go back again. Appointment made with, who the sales woman told me, was the branch manager (turns out he wasn't). Said "branch manager" didn't arrive for the appointment, and no one knew about it. When he finally pitched, one of the excuses was that he thought I was sending my wife - as if this sexist statement made it ok to arrive when he pleased. Gearbox repaired under vehicle warranty by Reeds.

Just over another month later - the vehicle started giving issues again - contacted the dealership again, who wanted me to bring in the vehicle AGAIN (3rd time in two months) fortunately the issue went away but only to return a month later - whereby the "branch manager" advised me to wait for the service.

At the service I contacted them again with the issue - whereby they stated its not their problem, they only give a months warranty on vehicles, in clear contravention of the consumer protection act. Something repeated by the "actual" branch manager.

At this stage - I am still sitting with a problem vehicle, five months into the purchase. The vehicle will fortunately be traded in soon.

Tried getting hold of the dealer principal repeatedly, with the receptionist continually transferring me to sales people - gave up after about 4min of transfers.

Be warned - do not trust this dealership at all, do not trust their vehicles.

I certainly won't be back, which includes servicing of my FJ Cruiser.

The service I received at McCarthy Toyota N1 City totally blew me away last week. Such friendly staff from the moment I walked in to the moment I received my clean vehicle back. Although they had my phone number, the service department waited until I arrived to collect the car, before telling me that there was further work to do and would I like to wait another two hours. Not smart time management.

Well first of all my manager made a booking for Tuesday morning for our company bakkie. Monday afternoon I came to drop bakkie off, so I was told that they don't have a booking for this vehicle. I was very puzzled because my manager Nick Pistorius still told me that he got a better quote from you guys then Market Toyota Culemborg & that he made the booking. Lauren your bookings clerk entered the reg no & a Vw vehicle popped up, so I gave her the vin no. So I had to Re-book our bakkie & then she told me that they actually fully booked for tomorrow. But she managed to squeeze me in. Following afternoon I got a sms from a service advisor Laurens Du Plessis to say that they are still busy with the service. Not long after that I get a call from Lauren telling me that I have a booking for today?? So I told her that I dropped off our bakkie yesterday afternoon & had to re-book & I got a sms to say that they are busy with the service as we speak. So she sounded very confused.
But anywaythat was my experience with you guys. Not a very happy customer.

Was just not the best experience. I had to do the car check myself, no explanation of what I was signing, and ya just not great experience. The car was serviced and cleaned which felt like a bonus in the end of it all.

I have had the worst experience at the N1 City Branch.
My valuables was locked away more than 2 months ago and to date I have not had anyone take ownership of a return or compensation.
Each time someone will call me back and even with me going in personally to date, no outcome. This is treated as a joke it seems??.
Well I just do not think so.
I am waiting patiently.

when you arrive, they don't acknowledge you as a customer and make you sit and wait without telling you how long they might still be. I arrived well on time for the appointment, but I'm still sitting around with nobody attending to me. And I'm only one of two customers here! Poor service indeed.
