Absolutely brilliant getaway 1 hour from Johannesburg central. A tucked away hideaway in the majestic greenery and quiet of the Magaliesburg. The staff are very well-trained Ed and impeccable service. Dinner was sensation all and the chef is world-class, beautifully paired wines and lovely gardens to take in the scenery and have a glass of vino. Rooms are large and great beds as well as lovely bathrooms to relax you to the point of no return. Can't wait to go back.

Only stayed one night for a wedding we attended next door and I wish we had spent another night. The drive in makes you already feel secluded and upon crossing the bride leading to the estate one is faced with a beautifully maintained country lawn and surroundings. Staff were friendly. Gardens beautiful. Rooms clean and spacious. We skipped the dinner booked due to the wedding and we're surprised the next day buy being told they owe us money. A lovely stay indeed.

Unbelievable 5 star hotel. Everthing to the smallest details. Staff friendly and helpful. Food excellent and well presented. Great atmosphere. Spent weekend with friends and family for special occasion. What fantastic everything was arranged and so beautifully tables were set inside or outside.

Incredible food! This venue has breathtaking views against the backdrop of the hills. The rooms are small but cosy.
Staff was always eager to help with whatever we needed, even when we called multiple times. They always jumped to assist with a smile.
The venue also has scenic spots to take pictures or just relax.
The food was first class and very tasty. That was definitely the best party of my visit.response / report this review -

WiFi does not work in the furtherest rooms (so ask for closest rooms if you need WiFi to work. But besides for that very cool!

A night of dreams that come true. My wife and i have never had such a spectacular experience in our lives as the night we spent at De Hoek . Just a breath out of Johannesburg, a small drive on a beautiful sandy road over a bridge that you can only imagine . De Hoek at the start till the end of what I only can say was a dream come true , will stay with us in our memories and dreams for years to come . Till we dream again thank you De Hoek .

Went for our first wedding anniversary August 2016. Had the best weekend ever. Staff were amazing, friendly and very attentive. Food was so delicious, have yet to eat anything better. Hotel and room were beautiful. Couldn't ask for more!
