Hotel is beautiful. Conference centre's are beautiful and very well equipped. Catering for the conference centre is done very well too.

There is something I fail to understand, maybe too backward, I visited the restaurant only to be told that we can only sit at bar. Can you explain exactly the connection between restaurant and the bar? Oh please I need to know. I am worried because I am still left with 4 days. #Very weird

Lovely venue to host conferences, events and weddings etc. Great pool area and deck. Has a great buffet spread as well (highly recommended). Location is just a 5 minutes walk from Palm Boulevard and Gateway Shopping Centre. Near Chris Saunders Park as well. Rooms are modern and upscale. Convenient from business travellers as its just a 10 - 15 minutes drive from King Shaka International Airport

One of my favourite hotels. Best view in Umhlanga. Lovely breakfasts. Also attended a catered wedding on the top floor and it was wonderful. Amazing food. Excellent venue. Nearly 270 degree view. Great service. Nice pool. Gym. Restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Always a pleasure to visit.

Loved the breakfast, catering halaal meals made the stay much more enjoyable. Rooms are neat with excellent views of the ocean. Based close to all amenities, it's easy to feel at home when you're away from home. Conference rooms serve as great reception areas for weddings. Caterers have set a very high standard with their service and taste

The hotel is beautiful and service is amazing. Only the restaurant has some weird rules such as sitting outside if you buying form a la carte and the hotel has no good view. Other than that, a great hotel.

I loved having the equivalent of a serviced apartment. Breakfast was great and the facilities were lovely too, especially the indoor pool :)

Stayed twice, unreal hotel must must go if your thinking about it. Breakfast with Stanley’s service is unbeatable. Siyabonga is a top guy as well, ask him anything and he will provide!

This is our third stay at this hotel and an old waiter (Stanley) served us at breakfast this morning. His attention to detail and service was overwhelming. The other staff were also friendly and helpful. Thank you and keep it up.

Love that the vanilla bar serves the most divine meals right until 2am My view one of the best places to go to after midnight in Durban /Umhlanga. It's safe and the food is consistently good.

Hotel facility with retail stores on the ground level. These include a KFC, bicycle store and Harley Davidson sales. The hotel restaurant has had great buffets on the occasions I have used it. Fittings were cheap. The stores I have used did not give impressive service so I pretty much only come here rarely now for the KFC. Parking does not suit larger vehicles.

Solid generally, but fast service is not their priority. At breakfast, it was difficult to find a seat - not because the dining room is small, it's actually quite large - but because the staff didn't seem to ever clear off any of the tables after someone left. If you asked for them to clean a table for you, they clean off just one seat at the table, leaving the other seats at that table covered by dirty dishes. Took 20 or so minutes each morning to get coffee at breakfast.
Housekeeping came into my room at around 7pm while I was out for dinner, even though I had my "Do Not Disturb" sign out, and rearranged a lot of my things - such as dumping all of my clothes that were hung about the room (on chair backs and the like) into my luggage and closing and moving my laptop, which was downloading a large-ish file I needed. They also turned off a power outlet where my things were charging for morning meetings and the trip home the next day.
Otherwise, the views are nice and the beds are comfy.

Absolutely terrible service considering the cost. Reported light bulb flashing 3 times and only got it fixed when made a deal about it. Breakfast waiters not friendly at all. Maintenance decided to start doing repairs before 8am on Saturday morning and wouldn't stop for 2 hours drilling and hammering on the same floor, never even warned or apologised about it. Saturday night there was a wedding in the venue and music kept playing massively loud until late hours. Room service menu does not include "tray charge" so don't be surprised when the bill is much higher than expected. Only two lifts for 11 floors, extremely long wait each time. Overall rooms are spacious and comfortable but way too dark (tinted windows) and not enough lighting. Would not recommend, save your money, this place isn't worth the price.

Excellent and friendly service. Staff will bend over backwards to help and seem genuinely happy. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. For me, the halaal breakfast was a big plus.

Coastlands Umhlanga is on Umhlanga ridge, so handily laced if you are visiting businesses in that area. It has good conference facilities on many floors and the staff are polite and helpful. The conference room on the top floor has awesome views of the whole city. My experience is with conferences, but the to floor room is also used for weddings and other social receptions - and its a lovely venue. The food is offered buffet style, but the chefs really know what they are doing.
