Great fast service! Got ID photos printed there
Friendly staff. No problems. Got a used lens and a lens cap. I got pretty over charged without warning for a lens cap but otherwise it's a good place.
For your basic DSLR and camera needs. A selection of products for your average user. They take passport/visa photos on sight too. Conveniently located on long street.
The customer service and willingness to assist is not that great. Did not have stock of the two requested items. No offer was made to request the stock even after enquiring and did not offer to let us know when they will have stock again.
The best place so far, they helped me out with a 150 x 600 canon lens where I could take quite awesome shots. They are helpful and have a bunch of tips.
Very fast service , got my pictures taken and printed within 5 minutes and there are no queques , they print pictures of a very good quality.
I needed a picture for my New Zealand visa, which is a very particular process and the requirements are fairly lengthy. After getting an incorrect picture from another establisment, the staff at Cameraland were wonderful and efficient. I was in and out in a matter of minutes, and I had my final visa photo sent to me by email within 2 hours. Best of all, I had a follow-up email the next day checking if all was ok with the submission. Great stuff!
Friendly staff, some decent specials now and then, they have free workshops every now and then as well.
I love the atmosphere the place has, and the fact that it has a coffee shop while you read up more on photography.
Very helpful with working out replacement lenz caps for my camera.
I had previously purchased the top of the range SD and CF card reader by sandisk. It had stopped working as one of the pins on the inside had become bent. I had asked for a replacement.
I was told they could not replace it as I had damaged it. On consultation of a plethora of reviews, this happens commonly with this particular card reader. The pins routinely become bent as the slot is too large for the card reader.
My question therefore is why sell an expensive product which routinely becomes faulty and then refuse to replace it? It was apparent that this was not the first time a customer had this experience. The manager simply said I've had mine for 5 years and it works fine. Which should have no bearing on me at all.
The manager was incredibly standoffish and unfriendly at best.
The product comes with a two year warranty so they had to replace/refund it and refused to do so. Essentially what they are doing is theft.
They offer the best advice and a wide range of photographic equipment. Definitely recommended.
Loving shopping here, you always get the very best service and advice. Faizel is just awesome.
Had some passport pictures taken and it was pretty straightforward
Quite historic in that it has been here for many years. It is still my favorite photographic place as I receive very good service here. Friendly and staff with plenty of experience in the field. So many cameras, video recorders, lenses, bags and more. Love the idea that you can try out a lens upstairs. Just bring your camera and try out the different lenses that they have out. Need photos done for licencing, 1st floor does it quickly. This photographic center is now even better after it went through a building upgrade.
On first glance, Cameraland is "just another" photo equipment store or a place to take passport photos. But since the renovation the store has become an event & workshop space too - mostly for photography related events, but I've recently learned they host regularly Food & Wine pairing events too! It is Cape Town after all, and the best way to attract the trendy Cape Townians is through their stomach - with gourmet cuisine & bubbly ;) Pop in for the infrequent exhibitions and check out the new space.
