Terrible service and one of our meals was inedible. Despite this they still questioned why we didn't tip- when we explained the waiter didn't even bother responding, he just walked off! Definitely avoid- there are plenty more far better options to choose from in Franschhoek.

Unfriendly staff, boring atmosphere. Took the waiter 15 minutes to bring a coffee and another 15 for the bill and another 10 minutes for the card machine. On top of this it wasn’t even busy. Not impressed at all

Herman the chef is amazing with his combinations of food that makes your tastes buds shout at you for more food. Well done guys I love spoiling myself coming to your restaurant.

Recommend the South African tapas for starters for 2 to share. Peri-peri chicken livers were good but a tad creamy. Malva pudding was truly authentic and delicious.

We had lunch here whilst visiting Franchhoek and it was nice. The menu and service was good. We sat outside and the food was decent. Would recommend if you're looking for somewhere for lunch whilst in Franchhoek.

Shocking experience! I was served a completely RAW hollandaise sauce. It was inedible and a health risk since it was completely and totally raw. I POLITELY told the owner about this. His response: 'Its going to happen again, mistakes happen, my restaurant is busy enough, there are lots of other restaurants in the town for you to go to'. Shame on you for caring that little about your customers. It's sad really.

We had a fantastic lunch at Cafe Franchhoek. Food was delicious with generous proportions. Felicia is an excellent waitress and had lots of great ideas for meal options for our 4 year old. Fantastic selection of wine at a good price.

Service slow and indifferent. One of us had food poisoning after eating the soup here. Best to avoid.

Mixed afternoon. Flies out of control throughout the meal. Table dirty on arrival. Service slow (glass of wine arriving after the food). SA tapas dish included half great, half terrible bites. Pretty setting otherwise. Will skip next time.

Mixed feelings. The waiter was shocking as we had to repeat everything we said to him, and he just looks at as as if we are talking in some alien language (he doesn't seem to understand English or Afrikaans), and his service was quite slow. Food was not too bad, pancakes tasted great but they cannot make you a plain ham and cheese sandwich. I believe they are over priced, don't think the place would survive anywhere else.

The venison pot pie was delicious with a hint of spice. The boys had the risotto and the cordon bleu which they enjoyed very much.

Really good quality food, well prepared and the use of the best ingredients. Milkshakes, albeit expensive, were out of this world. Have been back for multiple hot chocolates on a cold winters day.

    Dear Sirs/Madam
On the 15th March three of us had lunch at your establishment
friends from Somerset West and I am from Johannesburg
Two of us ordered BOBOTIE we were told that it was finished, the third order a toasted Cheese and Tomato/
We then ordered Thai chicken (think you only used one Leg of the chicken for the two of us terrible)) Hold and Behold the table behind us arrived after us and they were served the miracle BOBOTIE.
The Toasted Cheese there was NO CHEESE we complained to the poor waiter not her fault that the whole experience was awful
    AWFUL AWFUL EXPERIENCE
