Going to the hospital is not fun, let's be honest, so what really counts is professionalism and a little bit of comfort. My mother had to stay at this hospital for quite some time due to lung problems she had developed and she had to go on oxygen and be supervised for about a week. The first time I visited her, she had a lovely view and she had some privacy with earphones to help her listen to television programmes. Bear in mind that she had to spend hours there a day, not sleeping like other patients do, but lying or sitting up awake, just with constant oxygen feed. On my second visit I was VERY disappointed to see that she was moved to a room with a horrible view and she could not put the television as hard as she needed to, being hard of hearing. Alternatively there was no provision made, e.g for ear phones. This is very disappointing to learn.Otherwise, the staff were professional and friendly to visitors, which is important, considering how worried one feels to visit a sick loved one at a hospital
Great hospital, amazing specialists and lovely, caring nurses. Best hospital I've been to.
Thanks to EN Neo and Dr. A du Plessis for making me feel so much better after feeling at my WORST!!!!!
Hospital staff. People with compassion!
My child recieved great care whilst at hospital;the staff were very helpful.
We cannot begin to express our gratitude towards the staff at Life Bayview. from reception to cleaners to nursing staff etc etc. excellent and well done to one and all. you are ALL great!!!!
Friendly staff and a very neat hospital!
ICU is very good.If you are a heart patient you will have the best doctor in SA working there. The general ward is quite bad and the staff ignore your request.
Arrive early at this hospital. Takes ages to get you in the hospital. Nurses are very good
My mother was admitted with bronchial pneumonia. The care she received was fine, although it seems no one washed her hair in the almost two weeks she was there. The nursing were courteous and competent. However, my mother was discharged way too early. Despite receiving some occupational therapy, she was still too weak to sat and or walk, and she had terrible diarrhea, something I only discovered when I got her home. I got the impression that they were just trying to clear the wards before the long weekend.
