We had a wonderful time at Askari. Friendly staff and excellent food. Our room was clean and well maintained. Loved the wildlife and especially our Elephant Experience and oh, yes. the spa treatment. well worth the money. We will be visiting soon and bringing friends.

Spent an exciting 2 nights at Askari. Room was comfortable and clean, of the best linen and pillows that I have encountered in a hotel. Period furnished rooms.
Meals were adequate for buffet style. Staff are attentive and friendly.
Animals wondered past our room on a regular basis, do go on the elephant experience and the game drives were most informative with our guide Ian. Visit the museum on site and the large collection of ox wagons.
They do have conference facilities, spa, and wedding venue as well.
Highly recommended.

Spent Mother's Day 2015 at Askari and the food and service were magnificent. The variety was excellent as was the presentation. Highly recommend it. Spent a night and went on the most amazing game drive. Just love this place.

Quiet, peaceful place. Great food and wonderful staff. Game drives are organized daily but the game reserve is small. Take a nature walk with the tour guide at the lodge and get to learn more about the history of the lodge, plants, insects and animals in the area. There are insects and bats in the rooms near the dam at night but the game lodge staff are very helpful and they spray the rooms in the evening and can come help even late at night. If insects and bats don’t bother you then you’ll have a wonderful night sleeping in the well furnished and cozy rooms!

Took a motorcycle ride through on a Sunday morning.
Ideal for a short ride, as it is just over 60km from Fairland. Roads were pretty good and all round a nice ride.
The venue was lovely and it's hard to believe it is so close to "the big smoke"! You get a real country feel.
Staff are exceptional and very friendly.. something not easily found in this day and age. Thanks peeps!
Food was good and prices are reasonable. That said, it was a breakfast buffet and suffered like many, as the food was on the cold side. Cannot understand why this is often a problem?
Overall I would recommend it and would go back again.

Lovely place just outside of Jhb to spend a weekend away relaxing, as there's not much to do other than a game drive. The rooms were lovely and up to standard, we went over a cold rainy weekend and they had plenty gas in the gas heaters to keep us warm all weekend. The restaurant is quaint and cute, but could definitely do with a décor update.

Really enjoyed everything here and visited many time now! I really wonder why Askari is 100x better then Kloofsizcht despite being managed by the same parent company.

Hopefully one day they would have purchased enough land to let their lions run free.

Had our company retreat at Askari and the venue was amazing. Great food and friendly staff. The accommodation was really nice and the only downside was that there was no air-conditioning in any of the rooms for those hot summer nights. Besides that though the whole venue was great!
