Fantastic location, within walking distance of Long Street and with the red tour buses passing at the bottom of the road, you can get to most places in Cape Town easily. The excellent staff are extremely helpful - able to help with directions, advice and onward bookings. Great atmosphere and food in the bar too. Have stayed 3 times with large groups and they managed them very well. Will be back. And good value!

Happy hour at the bar is between 7pm and 8pm. Pizza is delicious. Booze is affordable. What's not to love.

Wel situated nearby center of city. Clean rooms, has kitchen, pool and bar. The ashanti people are very nice and helpfull. There is also a possibility to pitch your tent, it's impossible to reserve a tent spot in adcance: first come first get. Do NOT leave bags or anything of value in your car nearby ashanti! Your car window will get smashed and your stuff stolen

A nice place to stay in Cape Town! Located at the heart of Gardens, this hostel is just a short walk away from Long Street with its numerous cafes, bars and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I stayed here with a group in February 2015 and we had a good time at this hostel. The food served at the bar is fairly priced and quite good. As this hostel is frequented by a lot of young people, it can get loud on the weekends. The sanitary facilities and the kitchen area were clean. The rooms are a bit small and can get crowded, but then again, this is a hostel. Also has a toilet with a fantastic with of Table Mountain - they call it "the loo with a view" ;)
Overall, a nice place to stay if you are traveling on a budget.
