Staff was friendly and easy to talk to, food was very filling while also leaving you feeling light and not weighed down. We got the Penne Pasta, Cuban Tacos, and the Chocolate Caramel Torte. Everything was exceptional and I'd definitely come here again!

Zest is always such a personalized experience- their bartenders are knowledgeable and have helped me pin down just the right glass of wine or fresh beverage time and time again. The food tasted like a guilty pleasure without the guilt. We’ve even done quarantine takeout and they were amazing. Casey cares deeply about people, health, and humanity and it shows in the love and care he puts into serving others. 10/10 would recommend :-)

I’m not vegan or vegetarian. like at all. I’m a carnivorous animal who lives for beef. But once in a while a friend asks me to go to Zest and I always am happy to say yes. You don’t even miss meat with the meals they create. They’re creative, tasty, and they’ve always had a great drink selection.

I’ve been coming to this delicious vegan restaurant for years. I love the community feel of it and the food is top notch. Can’t beat the locally sourced ingredients and the quality. Such a good choice for your belly!

Came here straight from the airport when they opened at 1100 on a Saturday. All staff were in masks, seating was spread out and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and everything was vegan so I had a lot of options. I had the Cuban breakfast and my friend had the stuffed avocado salad - both were excellent. We also both ordered draft beers, also really delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I definitely recommend this restaurant. If I lived in Salt Lake I would be a regular. There is limited outdoor seating, which is a nice option.

It's not always easy to find a good vegan restaurant when you're on the road. So when you find one that's GREAT! you have to share!! Zest Kitchen was an easy walk from the free transit. Food was phenominal!! If you ever offer up a cook book, I would like to be the first in line to buy it! My wife and I loved it. The team members, Service, food, atmosphere, all were excellent. Even if you aren't vegan, you should try this place, it's that good!

This is one of those few vegetarian restaurants that doesn't try to imitate meat options with vegetarian substitutions, however have holistic vegetarian dishes on the menu. The menu is simple, the place is nice and the bar seems pretty cool. The mushroom appetizer and the Thai entree I had were both amazing, definitely worth the money. I would definitely go back there when I visit Salt Lake City again. Go check it out!

Yum, what a great brunch! My friend and I split the savory pancakes and Billy's favorite breakfast plates. I do wish a half and half option of these was on the menu because they made the perfect combination together (a whole plate of the savory pancakes themselves might have been kind of heavy). I really appreciated that everything was not too oily and was flavorful and fresh tasting. The interior of the restaurant/bar was very attractive, excellent ambiance, good service and reasonable prices (with theexcethe ex of a few of the drinks). I'd definitely come again!

Absolutely LOVE this place. They always have the very best food, and having a completely vegan menu is almost unheard of in Utah. The staff are always super friendly and professional, and the ambiance is always perfect. Chill in the mornings, fun and fast for lunch, and almost club-like at night. Have been to many friend’s gatherings here, and have had tea by myself on a Sunday morning, and everything between and the service and quality are always consistent. Thank you for always being so wonderful, Zest!

Excellent, fully vegan and gluten-free menu! What is really amazing is that most of the food options can also be made nut and oil free for those trying to keep it super clean. Delicious foods from a simplified menu. Great desserts too and a diverse drinks menu. Locally sourced ingredients make for fresh and variable specials menu.

We always struggle to find gluten free and vegan options when we travel. To our delight, we found zest. The food is amazing, it's flavourful, filling and everything you could want in a meal. We are beyond thrilled with our dinner. We'll be back every night while we stay in SLC. I only every city had this option!!!! Or we could make this food at home.

Amazing! I love that there is a restaurant that is completely dedicated gluten and soy free, and very nearly completely dairy free. The food is fantastic, don't let the fact that it's vegan deter you, my meat and potatoes husband loved his grilled "cheese" and for a man who hates squash he was really digging his squash soup. On top of having a celiac friendly place, that tastes amazing, the prices are also really reasonable. Service was great as well. I'll definitely be back!

This place is amazing! I had the most incredible Thai curry dish. And dessert was a salted Carmel chocolate torte that made me cry, it was so good. The service was fantastic. All the servers were super friendly and very knowledgeable about their foods. Everything tasted like they'd just gone out back and picked it fresh from the garden.

If you are looking for healthy, colorful and awesome tasting food, then Zest is the place. There are a few other restaurants that claim to be vegan, however this beats them hands down. Zest offers such colorful presentations, you never have to worry about getting brown in various shades. The staff is awesome and so is the ambiance.

I would highly recommend this place to my fellow vegans, but honestly anyone would enjoy this.

I had high hopes for this place. Coming from out of town. I felt little higher price for what you get. I did get my salad to go so maybe that's why? I would say this lettuce used probably wasn't organic but it's a guess. I have visited other vegan places that were amazing. This was just ok. I wouldn't visit again. But the staff was pretty friendly. Not sure I get the hype?!

It would have been 5 stars except that our cheese plate was different than everyone around us. We didn't get one of the cheeses and the apples and peaches :( Other than that we LOVED the food. The 10" pizza was AMAZING. Also the carrot cake is a must try.

Hosts and servers were wonderful and friendly. Food was amazing. Atmosphere is very cool, hip, and modern. Love that it's a 21+ restaurant and bar!

First off let me start by saying that the atmosphere is beautiful. It is relaxing and inviting. The greeter/ hostess was delightful. Now let's talk about the actual experience. I was visiting from Atlanta. Yes all the way from Atlanta Georgia. My friend and I were seated within ten minutes but waited an additional ten minutes to be greeted by our waiter, who was nice. I ordered the (zucchini) zuc cheese dish which came out twenty minutes late and COLD (not Luke warm but cold) my waiter did offer to warm it and pack it in a "to go bag". But where I'm from that's a " no no". It should have come off the bill all together. All in all the EXPERIENCE WAS GOOD but the food was cold!! If I come back again I'll give them a second try. I'll let you know how the cake taste once it's warmed. UPDATE:::
So, the carrot cake was awesome and the peppermint tea was a must have.

Great alternative for those seeking healthier options (vegetarian and vegan). It is a bar setting, so the setting was a little dark, but they do have outdoor seating available. The dishes were creative, fresh and tasty. We had a green salad that was made from vegetables purchased at the farmers market that same day. The baked mushrooms were a little too spicy for my taste, but my husband enjoyed them. We also ordered pressed juices, the beet and the green juice. The green juice was our favorite. They also offer desserts, we had the carrot cake which was delicious. We had several other dishes, all good.

The house made ginger beer was absolutely amazing - subtly sweet with a hint of citrus and a good kick! The food was incredible as well. The chef really knows what they are doing. I am used to vegetarian fare, but this food was especially remarkable.

Zest is my favorite vegan restaurant in the downtown area. They have a great selection on their staple menu, and the daily specials are always great. I recommend the stuffed avocado salad - very filling. The food is great for vegans and non-vegans alike.

WOW. I'm completely impressed by the customer care provided by the owner of this restaurant.

I originally posted a review here voicing some concern I had about a to-go order. Within the same day, I was contacted directly by the owner.

Not only did he ask me for details regarding the situation - he thanked me for the information I provided and told me he would use it to better his business.

And he did! Within a week, I received a hand-written card - thanking me again for my input and letting me know the ways he had used my feedback to make several changes to assure his customers have the best interaction possible with his restaurant.

I've worked in the restaurant and service industry much of my life. I've never seen an owner show so much care and attention to every aspect of his business

Sustainability, quality, care for his employees and care for his customers.

    I'm so incredibly impressed.

Casey goes above and beyond any and all of my expectations for a phenomenal business.

This is not only an amazing restaurant, but also a business that I feel super wonderful supporting.

And, btw my cold-pressed juice was nourishing and absolutely delicious.

Just too good!!! The food is par excellence, great atmosphere, nice musicwhat more can you ask for? Too many choices, making it difficult to decide. My husband and I had a nice n' spicy root vegetable soup made with coconut milk and we had their brown rice pizza. Both were simply out of this world. The pizza was nice and crispy and oh so tasty! For dessert I had seasonal mousse, sweetened only with dates. It was simply divine! We would to come back and try all their wonderful creations.
