Thus was a wonderful side trip while we were here. The animals were beautiful, well cared for and clean. More structured were being added. Interaction with animals were great and encouraged. I would haved liked to see larger habitats for the animals like the lions and tigers and there was a lot of maintenance that needed to be done as well. But the fair for getting in was reasonable andcwell worth the price.
This zoo is close to a tie for becoming first place as my favorite petting zoo, and I’ve been around different zoos in many states. Employees are very nice! Place is kept clean, and there is a decent range of animals considering it’s size. One thing I feel that needs to be done, is for the wild cats to get more space though!! I don’t feel they have enough room to roam. And as much as I want to drop a star for that, I’m hoping they will expand their space in the near future, or give the wild cats to a bigger zoo.
We have family in town and wanted to take them here. When we arrived they said the giraffe and the petting zoo was closed for the day. We asked if it was still full priced seeing how the best part of the zoo was closed and they said yes still full price. We decided to still go in just to have something to do because my sister and her husband and 2 kids as well as my husband were already there. So we went in and not only was the petting zoo and the giraffes closed, but also the rabbit exhibit was closed which we love bc you get to touch them, and also the bird exhibit where you can feed them a stick of food was closed! It took about 20 minutes to see everything and a complete rip off! I am a local here and this place is horrific . If you are a tourist I'm giving you advice to not come here. Also throughout the "zoo" they have machines you can get feed for a quarter and they were all empty! For almost 20 dollars a person we expected so much more! I will not give them any more business and that's a shame. I live close to zoo world and would probably go quite often if it was worth it however if it only cost $5 I wouldn't go back here just for the principal.
This was our third experience at Zoo World. The staff have always been extremely friendly and knowledgeable! This time there was a lot of construction going on which is great because expansion is always a good thing. Rated a 4 instead of a 5 simply because the construction meant we couldn't see all the animals and the gift shop is nearly all stuffed animals. Would love to buy merchandise myself, but not a lot for adults. Make plans to pay more for an animal experience Pricey and yet so worth it!
Off season the prices are reasonable. I love the fact you can save you receipt and leave and come back in if you need to feed a baby or maybe pick another party to your group up. The animals were well taken care of and lots to see and do. Great family fun!!
I didn't expect much when I went here over the weekend, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place is. My 8 year old didn't complain once, and they have a good selection of animals. It took my family about an hour and a half to get through, probably could have stretched it if we wanted to. I read the bad reviews on here before going, and all I'm saying is if this place sucks to those people, they must have really high expectations from life, and probably don't have fun anywhere. I will be going back next time I'm in Panama City.
For what you pay and what is advertised that you get to do this Mom walked away feeling very taken advantage of You pay for admisssion and then they charge extra for everything else. So if you want to have any interaction beyond looking at caged animals expect to pay more. The staff we could find was nice and helpful. Several enclosures were closed and some without signage. So this family will not return and hopefully reading this review I can save your family money as well!!!
Small, but it's a good shady spot alternative. Enjoyed ourselves, spent about 2 leisurely hours. Liked feeding the giraffes and birds. It's a ZOO, folks, if you don't like to see caged animals DON'T GO. The staff was friendly. It's also at PCB, of course it's a little pricey. They are very up front on what you get with the encounters. I asked one visitor who paid for the lemur encounter and he said "worth it."
I don't understand the reviewers with bad experiences here. Our family, including my 10 month old loved this zoo. Animals were active and habitats were clean. Many of the habitats were larger than some at larger zoos I've been to. You could really get close to the animals here unlike at large zoos, and most of the animals were curious towards the visitors. All of the zoo staff were friendly and look like they enjoyed their jobs. Pathways were perfectly fine, even with a stroller. Everything was clean. We will definitely return on our next visit!
This is an awesome place to come see in Panama City Beach! Animals are well taken care of and healthy and the facility is professionally maintained with care. A variety of animals here to see, as well as a petting zoo. We had a great time getting up close and personal with the giraffes. You get to feed all the colorful birds in the enclosure and if you stay still enough, they might just hop on your hand. Overall awesome experience! Worth making the trip to. :)
Fun little zoo! There are many ways that you can interact with the animals. There is a petting zoo were you can also feed the animals. Especially fun is the aviary were you can feed the birds. For an extra fee, you can also pet certain animals. Children always seem to have a lot of fun here.
My husband and I visited while on vacation and had a wonderful experience. The animals are well taken care of and the grounds are clean. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We did the lemur encounter and also fed the giraffes, it was worth every penny. We will definitely be going back in the future!
I could go on and on about our visit to Zoo World. The entrance fee is reasonable, and then you have the option of purchasing additional excursions within the zoo. There are not many places one can get so up close and personal with a giraffe. And, Chase is one great giraffe! I would totally recommend this zoo to everyone, both young and old.
Despite all the poor ratings we decided to give this place a go and we were pleasantly surprised. Animals were in great hands and there were several opportunities to feed and pet animals. My kids loved it so much we went through it twice. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for family entertainment
I went to this zoo on 3/1/17 with 2 other adults & my granddaughter. Standing from inside where you pay, you could not tell anything was going on inside the actual zoo. Once we got pass the cute monkeys, it was a TOTAL mess!!! The walkways, in many areas, had debris piled up. We were constantly having to turn around and go back due to MOST of the areas being blocked off by either piles of debris or orange tape. There were sidewalks that were coming up, so you really had to watch your step. The entire inside looked like a total disaster! The animals all looked underfed and their environments were horrible! We came across 2 dogs roaming freely inside by the bears cages, and had to hunt for an employee to let them know! There was machinery being used as if there were no people around! I've never seen this zoo look so bad before in all the times we've been coming, and we are locals!! We tried explaining our experience to the person that took our money, and all she could do was say things like "well you got to see the animals, and it will be better next week". Never once did she apologize for our experience or for not telling us what was going on inside the zoo!! This was ridiculous!!! If we had known there was major construction going on, we most certainly would NOT have paid money for this!!! TAKE BETTER CARE OR THESE ANIMALS AND YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!
