Stayed here for the 1st time in 2008 for our 1 year anniversary. Came back last October for our 10 year anniversary. We will be back very soon with our children for a wedding in Destin. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. Love the accommodations and friendly staff. This is the only place we will stay when we are in tow. I have it saved on my GPS in my car so all I have to do is push a button and away we go. :)
Location was great. Not all rooms are beachfront so make sure you ask for one! The room was clean - no issues. The staff was really nice. They showed a movie at night for the kids at the pool area. Pool was clean. Nothing bad to to say bout it for a one night stay.
My family and I stayed here for 4 nights . After reading reviews I was praying the negative reviews were wrong. We absolutely loved this place. First the beach was gorgeous! Our room was decent size for having 2 kids. We had a fridge microwave desk 2 extra chairs. The beds very comfy and our a.c. was nice and cold at night . I loved the free movie rentals and bike rentals. The pools were great for after the beach. Everyday we got our room cleaned and fresh towels . We will defiantly be back next year!oh and the chair and umbrellas are awesome !
The Wyndham Garden in Fort Walton Beach was one if the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The room was comfortable and had a balcony with an ocean view. We were able to walk straight out of the hotel on to the beach. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub which we're very well taken care of. The fitness center was well stocked. There was an arcade in the lobby and DVDs to rent. The bar and dinner were very reasonably priced for the high quality of food and drinks we were getting. I definitely highly recommend this hotel.
We arrived 6 hours before check in and they still allowed us to check in early with ease. The pools were great and they supplied more than enough towels in a convenient cabinet by the pool. There were also games like ping pong and inflatable pool toys. Everyone was so nice. We had such a good time.
We come here every year for a mom's vacay. This year we got a suite. It was not up to par with what we paid! Sliding door broken, hard to open. Fridge didn't close all the way. Housekeeping was exceptional, and the manager was great to us. We love it here and the view is amazing. Just need some up dates in rooms!
Our room didn't smell very good. The hotel said that it was due to the hurricane, but it continued to smell throughout the stay. The beds we're comfortable and the pillows were nice. The staff has been very accommodating. The free bike rental was very nice. They also have a nice selection of free DVDs to watch. Overall I would recommend this hotel but the smell was our only.complaint.
Great! We wanted to maximize our stay at the beach, so we drove down the day before or reservation at Destin West actually started. My wife found a room at the Whyndam for $99. It wasn't beach front, but was perfect for a one night stay. The staff was friendly and the cafe downstairs was convenient and very good.
Of all the hotels I have ever stayed at, this is by far one of the best ones I have ever been to. Not also is the place very clean and very well situated right by a beach, the staff was extremely friendly and very professional. The room sizes are about what you would expect at a typical Hotel, but everything was very clean and very well organized. I absolutely loved the amenities that were offered as well as the great service provided by them.
For me personally, I had a very nostalgic trip down memory lane going into the game room with so many arcades that I grew up playing when I was a kid. I absolutely loved sharing my child experiences with my children as they played some of the arcades that I grew up playing with after I was their age. The staff was also extremely friendly to my children and constantly gave them token so that vacant go and play some of the arcades as well, which meant a lot for me.
Access to the beach was simple and Wyndham even provided towels, umbrellas, and beach chairs while we were on the beach. The pool is also a good size for the kids and was constantly cleaned and maintained by the staff. While I did not use the workout facility, it definitely had a good fair share of exercise equipment that would be great for any Fitness enthusiast.
The only negative that I can comment on, which has no real reflection on the hotel itself, is the restaurant that is located at the front lobby. You are much better off finding a different restaurant to eat at around here as it is ridiculously overpriced and service was very slow. Other than that, I would definitely come back to this Wyndham Garden Resort anytime I go for a weekend getaway I'll just remember to avoid the restaurant.
Nice clean and well maintained. Beautiful furniture and decor. Front desk staff professional, attentive and friendly. Tiny bathroom, tiny full kitchen. Bedroom tv doesn't work due to cable issues. At midnight security came right away to try to fix, but not successful. Double Bed comfy but too small for 2 adults. Patio just built for two. Great access to walk on the beach.
My family of 4 would not stay again because of the small space . Otherwise, me and hubby would consider returning.
Stayed for 3 nights. Wish I would have paid a little more for a nicer hotel. It was just okay.. the last night my ankles were bit A lot by either Bed bugs or fleas. The staff had a mix of very nice people and very irritated people.
If you're looking for an ok hotel on the beach, this will do, but if you want luxury/very clean, go somewhere more expensive. We paid $282.00 per night and I don't feel like we got our money's worth:(
Overall experience was ok. We reached the hotel two hours early and had to wait till 4pm to check-in. Had to wait in car. Was not a good experience to start with. Once we checked-in, rooms were good though very small. Had a great view from the room. Peaceful town as compared crowded cities like Panama or Pensacola.
Kind of grind looking in the halls but the room was decent. Beds were very comfortable. Pools and amenities are nice. They showed movies at night at the pool and they have free DVD rentals with new releases. They also have bike rentals which was nice. The beach was just steps away. I went with my husband and 3 young kids and we had a great time. We visit the area every summer and we'll definitely be coming back to Wyndham Garden!
If I could give a 0 I would. This is not how I planned on spending spring break dealing with no A/C and being told by Luis (Operations Manager) that he could "flip that room for $300 easy". 1. They lost our reservation 2. We get there and they gave us the wrong room 3. We changed rooms 3 times and they finally got it right (at least we thought) 4. We found out there was no A/C so we had to use a box fan to circulate air. My friend and I tried to be as polite as possible about everything but when most of the staff doesn't know what's going on it makes it really difficult. Then to top it all off Gina rolled her eyes when my friend simply wanted a receipt/ our cash deposit. This place is a circus. Will not be back.
