Well maintained small park. Nice boardwalk and loop trail.
This is a 'bigly' preserved Carolina Bay. Would appreciate if a small trail leads into the center of the bay. But is worth going for anyone interested in seeing a Carolina bay.
Grounds like most SC State Parks are beautifully maintained. This is a natural bay with an extremely well maintained boardwalk of around a mile. Not a lot to do here, but good trip for photography.
The boardwalk here is nice. Be sure to bring bug spray.
We were driving on 95 and pulled in here to stretch our legs and let the dogs and baby run around. Very clean, beautiful park. Long driveway with loop so we were able to park and turn our camper around easily. Nice signs and picnic area. Clean bathrooms with running, potable water.
Such a neat little state park! The boardwalk through the bay is super neat! The short hiking trail also provides a fun nature experience! Perfect place for a day trip, especially for families!
Great little park with a nice boardwalk
Really cool park, it's a little small but there's enough to do for an afternoon of exploring. The boardwalk is really neat, it's low stepping back in time! If you go at the right times you can see plenty of wildlife.
This is a 'bigly' preserved Carolina Bay. Would appreciate if a small trail leads into the center of the bay. But is worth going for anyone interested in wetlands.
Supper small, can canoe 2 days only (Tues and Thurs?)
The most interesting thing about the park is its highly unusual but beautiful scenery. The boardwalk is built on top of a swamp surrounded by thick trees and it was as if I entered another world when I went in. Very beautiful spot to take pictures.
I went in mid June and that means a lot of insects and that was probably the only obvious downside to it. Park ranger that I met was also very friendly.
