My husband and I came to eat here while on our honeymoon in Sugar Mountain and man I am in love! Such a cute cozy place and the staff is extremely kind and convenient. The music was great and the wall decor is so cute. The food is freaking amazing and not even 5 minutes of waiting. I love the fried okra and the corn. Corn bread is really good too. Highly recommend this place if you're in town.

This place was amazing! They had THE best nachos I've ever had! The food was down home, fresher cooked and served with very hefty portions and amazing flavor. We will definitely make this place a usual stop when we're in town!! I can't tell you how many people we told about this place. Absolutely worth it!

Delicious food in a quaint cabin setting with pig motifs! Ex: we had miss piggy framed on the wall where sat and a family of small porcelain pigs chillin on a shelf behind me. It's a funny, quirky and appropriate signature for them. Next time I visit Boone, this will be a stop for me!

Yesterday, my extended family and I went to Woodlands on our way to pick out our Christmas trees. I had heard good things about this place, and, despite the 45 minute wait to get in the door, we decided to stop here for lunch.

We were brought to our table, and immediately gave our drink and food orders to the waitress (we had looked at the menu outside while we were waiting). It took ten minutes for our drinks to arrive, and we patiently waited for our food and waited and waited and waited. Folks around us were being seated, receiving their food, and leaving. And we still waited.

ONE HOUR after we ordered, our food arrived at our table.

Not only was the wait unbelievable, I was not too pleased with my meal. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad for $8.95. What I received was a paper plate of lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and chopped onions, topped with three 1 1/2 inch long chicken pieces (they could NOT be called strips due to their tiny size). The chicken was burnt and crispy, and I ended up only eating the lettuce, since I do not eat tomatoes or plain onions (was not aware they were going to be on the salad).

In the end, I waited almost two hours for a few pieces of chicken, not even half a meal. Sorry Woodlands, but I will not be returning.

Everything about Woodlands is great. The barbecue is delicious as is the fried okra and barbecued chicken. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a barbecue restaurant and most nights they have live bluegrass / country music.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Between the customer service and the food, I highly recommend this place. First of all, we got food togo and two of the employees took their time to talk to us about the menu and give us some really good suggestions. We ended up getting one of the sampler platters with wings, brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. It was all amazing. The BBQ, the sides, the banana pudding as dessert were all great. If you get the chance, definitely give this place a visit!

Food was 5 star. Sliced brisket was moist with a nice smoke ring. Chopped pork was smoky and had a lot of flavor, no sauce necessary. If you did want sauce, they had one that was sweet and tangy and a second one that had a little kick to it. Sides were decent, but corn on the cob was really good. Service was a bit slow even by western Carolina standards. And they brought me out the wrong meal. They remedied that relatively quickly. Live music with guitar and banjo was a nice touch and added to the experience.

My favorite BBQ in the area. All of their pork is smoked to perfection. I recommend the chopped pork so you can get the nice bark, but the sliced pork and ribs are also good choices. Their chopped BBQ tray is a fantastic value, and their plates are also a good bang for your buck if you're a tad hungrier. The waitstaff is friendly and service is generally fast. It can get busy in peak season but it's worth the wait!!

We were really looking forward to eating here after reading reviews but it didn't live up to the hype in some areas. I will say that the pulled pork was amazing. But the super nachos my husband got were made with really cheap ingredients including the liquid canned cheese product instead of real shredded cheese on nachos. My five year old got a burger that was very obviously one of those frozen pre-made ones. My side salad looked like a bag was opened and lettuce was posted onto my plate. It was so dry and over cooked and charred so badly that none of us could eat it. The chips and BBQ sauces come from big store bought gallons, we saw them refilling the bottles. I guess for the hype, we expected fresher ingredients and more homemade items. The staff was really friendly though and the restaurant seemed pretty clean.

A couple advised me to go to this place after a long fun day of driving, hiking and exploring. It's in the town of Blowing Rock. It was a bit busy but was also at dinner time. Friendly people there! Fun atmosphere with all the wall decor, pigs and live music. I got my food togo. Man was it good. They suggested the spicy cornbread. Everything was amazing! Gotta try this place if you find yourself in that area ☺

Good pulled pork barbecue and hush puppies. Might be cheapest place to eat in Blowing Rock. Live, country, guitar-playing singer at supper who can be talented, depending on which night you go.

Very casual; seating inside is unpadded wooden picnic tables and benches without back rests, decor is pig humor. Fast service. Iced tea is served in Mason jars. Bar. Additional dining room is down long flight of stairs. Useful when crowded or if music is louder than you like or if you dislike being solicited individually with a tip jar. That's the only thing I don't care for at Woodlands; tipping is supposed to be discretionary, not coerced. The top jar should be left on the piano.

Much newly paved parking directly behind the building in 2017 is a big improvement. Fairly steep hill back to the front door. Let out the disabled up front, then park.
