Terrible odor comes from this place all the freaking time, we moved to DeLand a year and a half ago and the odor coming from here is the only thing we can’t stand. We’ve called multiple times and were told they had a new reclamation system going in. It got better for a little while but the last couple weeks have just been horrendous! Wish they would just shut this place down.

The terrible odors that this site creates is TOTALLY NOT OK!! It has been getting worse for the past couple of years. I have been trying to find help on getting air quality testing, regulations and potential class action suits.
We also live nearby and it gets so bad (sunrise, evenings and definitely after it rains)our friends and family do not come over anymore. We had to purchase expensive air purifiers for our home because of the odor coming in the house.
I am communicating with Dr. Phil Cain with the District office of Environmental Protection Services for some resolutions to this matterresponse / report this review -

7:30 to 7:55. Your dumpster delivery Truck sat outside the diamond resort and had alarms BLARING while your incompetent driver shuffled dumpsters around the parking lot. Unacceptable..

This landfill is not a good neighbor. We live nearby just south of the landfill and yes, we know some smell from a landfill is normal, but several times a month the stench becomes so overwhelming at night that it wakes our entire house up gagging and sneezing, and gives all of us headaches! It’s happening again right now. All the doors and windows are closed, but the smell still gets in because it’s so out of control and strong. There are ways to mitigate these smells (burying daily, gas collection, etc.) and they are NOT doing them enough, if at all. We have complained to Florida environmental services, but nothing has changed. The stench is so bad, it lingers in the house, the cars and even the shed for days afterward. We can’t use our lanai at night or swim in our pool at night. Our clothes even smell like garbage. If you’re unlucky enough to have to go outside for a moment on one of these putrid-smelling nights, you have to hold your breath or risk throwing up. It’s THAT bad. Please, PLEASE mitigate your odors better! And yes, I’d love for you to come experience the stench yourselves some night. We’d be happy to let you walk around and see how overwhelming and terrible the smell is. We shouldn’t have to live like this. We love where we live, but this makes us not want to live here anymore. Be a better neighbor, folks.

I had previously dumped a pick up load at the transfer station on 44, they would not accept pressure treated 2x6's. I came to the WM site and for only 4 pressure treated 2x6's less than 8 foot long they wanted $80.00. Out of control corporate self-serving greed rather than common sense. Shameful how after building a billion dollar business they treat the community as fools with absolute ridiculous price gouging. And we wonder why people dump all kinds of hazmat trash in the river and vacant lots with no incentive to do the right thing when this company is insane with their prices for what are raw materials they make money on as well.
