Whitewater Draw is a beautiful wetland in the middle of the desert. A path leads from the small parking area to where hundreds of Sandhill cranes were getting ready for the night. More and more were flying in. This is an amazing sight. There is no charge to visit. Bring binoculars a good camera and mosquito spray.
Pretty. No cranes as of 2nd week of October. Adequate parking, restroomsgreat views.
Watched the Sandhill cranes. Lots of bird watchers. Bring your binoculars & camera.
This is a very beautiful, hidden gem of a nature spot that is well worth going a little out of your way to visit.
An unexpected awesome Delight ! In the middle of nowhere there is this Marsh full of cranes deer and lots of other wildlife. I'm not sure if I would want to stay overnight in the sparse and desolate and small camping area that's available, it reminded me too much of The Hills Have Eyes especially the guys with the humongous RVs , a 50-foot flagpole with the American flag sitting outside with what looked like a shotgun on his lap. But the trail around the marsh and the viewing opportunities to see the cranes is Simply Amazing. We saw a herd of about 25 deer including two bucks nearby as well, who would have thought? As dusk approached swarms of mosquitoes also approached and my wife literally ran back to the car , but we got some amazing photos and had a really great time and would highly recommend visiting this spot and helping to preserve it.
We loved the Sandhill cranes. Very cool to be able to see them during their migration in several locations in Michigan and Arizona.
Be here from 11-1. The sandhill cranes fly in from feeding in the surrounding fields. Amazing.
Arizona Fish & Game works miracles. They keep the place spotless. I've seen lots of different birds here; but, it really comes alive when the Sandhill Cranes arrive. I try and go every year. I always have a great time. You can camp there too. It is so nice to hear the cranes talk to each other all night long. The Sunrises and Sunsets are great here, so bring your camera.
