This was our second visit to this restaurant, with several years between. We wanted to have pasties for lunch and stopped here because the sign stated they were available. This small restaurant served us cole slaw and delicious pastie with gravy on the side. The size was the perfect. Will refer to family and friends.
Come find out , great foood, friendly people, in a small friendly town
Stayed for a long weekend. Room was fairly clean for price. Restaurant next door is convenient & food is okay, plus you can overhear some charming local banter. The bathroom is a bit sketchy (plastic fixtures, slow draining tub) but there were no glaring issues. Overall, 4/5 star for price. Considering the region, this is a decent place to stay for just a couple nights.
Best bison pasties in MI by far. Throw in some bread pudding you have one of the tastiest meals you've ever had!
Quaint restaurant with nice thin crust pasties (including bison) with lots of gravy. Inexpensive rooms and kind staff.
Had an excellent pastie for dinner. BH says it is the best she has ever had. Good coleslaw on the side. Staff was friendly. Will go back.
We are from MN & come to the UP every summer & always stay here. Sue (owner) & Kathy (housekeeping) have been a staple of our summer vacation. Food is exactly what your looking for homemade. Either because of Joel's secret recipes or Sue's handmade pies. The restaurant is no frills & simple. Exactly what your looking for when in the UP. Rooms are clean and comfy. Again, no frills but comfy.
The western omelet was delish. Coffee so-so. Good service. I'd go again.
Great place! Honestly great! Homemade soup, HUGE pancakes, homemade chips (so good), and omelets that are stuffed!
Wonderful people working in the restaurant. Great place to catch some zzz's. Not ideal for the fussy traveler.
Jordan and Adam were really great. Had the Pasties that Jordan said I must have and he was right! Good Margaritas too! Very delicious. The motel is nothing spectacular a place to lay your head and ours was very roomy. Great price as well!
Ordered shrimp basket. When food should have been brought to the table we were told they were out of shrimp. Ordered whole wheat toast with my breakfast, it came when most of my meal was gone. Slightly burned, was not going to say anything. One bite, it was obviously stale bread. Used the restroom, urinal was covered with a bag, appeared to have been that way for a while. Other waitresses seemed to take care of their tables, ours did not ask if we wanted a beverage refill or if something was wrong with the toast I did not eat other than the obvious one bite. We eat out often and rarely say anything about a bad experience, and tip very well for good service. Her tip did not require mathematics.
