  Bed bugs. It was a nightmare! I was covered in bites. It’s a major ordeal making sure we didn’t transfer any bugs home with us. It put a huge damper on our vacation.

  I booked this place because for the $90+ because it "had a pool" there is no pool. It is empty and moldy, I think they just like to say they have a pool. The people who work here are also very rude. Don't waste your money, just stay at one of the smaller hotels instead.

  I stayed here year's ago when it was new. The owners have not put a dime back into it and it shows. The staff was pleasant and the room was clean, but for 150$ it was a 60$ room. Newberry is ripe for another big chain like holiday inn to move in and put them out of business. Stay at your own risk.

  It's loud. You hear everything from the neighbour rooms. Air-condition not working, dirty old fan in room instead. Strange smell in the room. Swimming pool out of service. Breakfast consists of donuts and coffee. It's not the worst place I've ever been to but goes definitely on my places to avoid list.

  Sunday breakfast buffet - great selection. $9.99. Home style cooking.
  
  Of course I had "The Beast" the delicious giant, as big as a dinner plate - cinnamon roll. Friendly service.
  
  Thursday is the All You Can Eat Chicken Buffet.
  If you are looking for a traditional UP Pastie - this is the place!

  Nice place to stay if you are planning to visit lower/upper falls, paradise beach and clear water lake. Room is spacious and well furnished with microwave and refrigerator. The pool was closed when we visited. The staff is very courteous and helpful. A gas pump and grocery store is next door for any last minute needs. The in-house restaurant is good. Blueberry pancakes are must have. They also have 10$ buffet breakfast. There is a pizza hut and Subway closeby.

  Ice machine didnt work, refrigerator didnt work, and water pressure was horrible. It was clean though.

  FOOD AND SERVICE WAS GREAT!! We stopped here after a long day of being in Munising on the way back to Paradise we were a little apprehensive because it was late etc. Etc. The white fish was great (as you need in the yoop) and so we're the pasties! Everything was homemade including the delicious soup too! The staff was super friendly even though we got in late please eat Herr it was a great UP spot!

  Hotel is fine good staff. Now! Listen to this here. The bar up front. Different story. The bar tender is an insane woman on Meth/crank not sure which one. It's disgusting, and service is beyond horrible. I wanted to leave, but I was really hungry. Food isn't bad. This woman has no class and is a terrible bartender/server I also watched multiple people walk out without paying because they couldn't get a bill. There supposedly is a good bar tender named Adrian. We were not lucky enough to have her serve us.
  I would really like to see management replace this crazy woman. Our group of 8 went to another bar, trailers and trucks, just to avoid this lady the second night.

  It's super cute. The hallway smells like smoke but the rooms don't. The staff is super nice.
