Considered to be ground breaking in concept and realization, this widely acclaimed urban shopping experience completed in the mid 80s totally transformed a tacky crime ridden 6 1/2 block red light district in downtown San Diego into one of the city's most popular destinations.
Visitors stroll promenades that wander at angles over multilevels rather than follow straight lines. Old landmark buildings incorporated into new design. Area is a blend of dept.
stores trendy boutiques, casual to upscale dining, two live theater venues, large distinctive hotels, a city fresh-source market, and much more.Visually one of the most unique shopping and entertainment themed areas in all America. Parking $
Horton Plaza is the heart of Downtown San Diego with some stores and restaurants. This is one less busy shopping mall with a nearby hotels in the area. Now with the Horton Plaza Park, it enhances and beautifies the area. It is great for locals and tourists for shopping, entertainment, and fun. It has been troublesome in the mall and park with the homeless.
Great place for all of your shopping needs and wants. Up to date fashions. They've got an excellent movie theater, outdoor entertainment, great stores and a nice variety to choose from in the food court area .. For holidays, birthdays, weekends, rainy days, lunch breaks and relaxing days, this is an entertaining place to shop and unwind at
I love Horton Plaza!!!
For it being in the middle of downtown parking usually is not the biggest problem due to their large parking garage as well as the cheap prices that usually go along with parking there. I just recommend that you get your parking receipt validated, because if you don't then parking can be pretty expensive depending on how long you stay. When it comes to the stores in the mall there is a very wide selection that fits any range of personality, Unlike other malls in San Diego.
I loved this place! It has a ton of character and charm and is so unique. Every time you turn around they're is something new to discover. Didn't do any shopping here due to time constraints but I had a blast walking around the entire area. Pictures don't do it justice you just have to experience it for yourself. Would love to come back when I have more time.
Really gone downhill over the last 5 years. I used to be fun to go to the mall now it feels like you're walking into a big money suck. A lot of the small fun shops have closed. And they charge for parking if you stay more than an hour.
I like some aspects of this place plus i feel like they are dropping the ball in so many other areas. This place could be making some serious money.
A lot of the shops are over priced. They need their consistent specials because they charge a lot to begin with.
A few areas i do like in this places are the perfume shop on the second floor, 24hr fitness and Jimbos Market. The rest i could probably do without.
If you are a visitor however, it is worth checking out. I'm sure you have better malls where you come from.
Very basic. Seems very sleepy place with no much great shops. Take yourself to outlet instead of spend your time here.
If you really wants, enjoy the big golden clock and stroll around the gas lamps quarter.
Very interesting architecture. Seems that mall culture is on its way out though. Seems like more and more shops are closing these days.
Still have a big comics n stuff though
You will have a great time getting lost at this large, multi level, twisty, turning mall. It features a movie theatre, large food court and several restaurants. And a huge variety of upscale shops and kiosks. Great for tourists. Located in the middle of the gaslamp. Features ample pay parking in a multi level parking structure. Something for everyone.
Parking can be difficult on weekends. It's a good mall, just do not like the fact that it is downtown. Parking structure is easy to miss so be careful when driving to it. First hour in structure is free!
This is a nice mall to walk or visit a specific store. However, last time I went there was on March 2017 and the mall looked very empty and uncared for. The building itself requires a modernization or maintenance, but other than that the spaces are wide open and is very comfortable to visit. The store selection is fine, although many locals are empty.
Great location, parking is perfect for downtown. Needs more open stores! This place would be amazing if it was fuller and shown some love.
His place has some potential but needs some work. Some of the big box retailers are leaving and its often very dead here. The new renovation of the park out front is nice. The gym is alive and well. Some of the grocery places are great. Needs a little rehabbing though.
Awesome mall in the middle of downtown San Diego. They have everything you could ever want to buy. I got some kick ass Vans at Journeys. Don't stop believing.
