$$$ cash only,. Wonderful pizza went there for a recent Christmas party. We all had slices where we could put waht we wanted on the individual slices. Very good selection of beers and wine. The pizza was amazing and was like being back in New York city.. wonderful atmosphere and a very friendly staff. First visit and can't wait to go back.
Great pizza, great atmosphere, and great staff. Only reason 1 star is removed is for the "Cash only" policy. Approaching modern times means not everyone carries cash and will be upset when asked to use an ATM that will charge fees which is considered an "inconvenience". Otherwise it's the best pizza in Savannah's Historic District.
The pizza was good. Like the other reviews the server was rude when I tried to pay with a card. Seriously though, its 2017 you should be able to take cards by now. Overall a decent place for a beer and some pizza.
The pizza there is rather dry, flavorless. The toppings are pricey but the atmosphere is nicer. What I have a problem with is when you sometimes make a visit inside to order their Pizza, a lot of the employees can be very rude if you don't know that they are a cash-only establishment. I have lived in Savannah all of my life and have been going to Vinnie Van Go Go's for 20 + years on and off and the faces is there may have changed but the attitude is still there! If people are going to spend their money for your expensive ass Pizza you shouldn't have an attitude when someone doesn't know or forgets that you only take cash! And why is it you still don't accept debit cards or credit cards? Let's get with the times people if you want people to pay you for your product at least hire some people who don't have a wedge stuck in their ass all the damn time I certainly will not be making any more appearances for the time being because I don't like paying people for the product and the attitude that comes with it and I would rather spend my money somewhere else.
They only take cash.. One way to beat the "Big Banks". :) Don't listen to the "East Coasters" reviews when it comes to this "style" of pizza. This is a Neapolitan Style Pizza establishment. Went with a colleague on a Friday night and enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drinks. What makes this a plus in my book, is the way you can personalize your individual slices or a whole pizza. The crust is light, thin and not greasy. You can sauce to taste as well as most other ingredients. I even had anchovies on the side to taste as needed. The price is pleasant on the pocket book too, about $3 to $6 a slice depending on what you want. For the friday night, which was packed, service was within 30 minutes wait time. Staff was also pleasant. One slice will fill you up, walked out an hour later with a $15 bill and a full stomach. Highly recommend if in the area regardless of where you came from. Thanks for reading.
I write to warn you. The manager named Rob is awful. He is incompetent. He could care less about you or your food. This place used to be one of my favorites. I grew up in Savannah, Georgia and have always liked this place. Until tonight. I walked up there with my dog. He is a big dog. I walked about 10 blocks to get there. When I got there I asked for a table and some water for my dog and myself. The lady at the front asked me what I wanted. I told her one large pizza with pepperoni, tomatoes, sausage, and basil. I asked how long until a table will be ready outside. You could see two completely open tables. She said maybe ten minutes. I sat down on a bench and waited. The friendly woman at the Stand brought me a cup of water and she gave my dog a bucket of cold water. Then the manager named Rob walked up to me and told me that I can't eat there and that I can eat outside on some public bench because I ordered at the front stand. I canceled my order and Rob laughed quickly and then he walked fast away. I'm a lawyer in Savannah, Georgia and I will never eat at this place again. I suggest that you go to Screaming Mimi's if you want the best New York style pizza in Savannah, Georgia.
The pizza is HUGE!!! Great prices. They sell by the slice as well. Fast service. Cash only. Good place for a quick bite. We brought drinks from Wet Willies with no issues
Pizza dough is fresh made. Sauce and cheese not high quality and you can tell cheap. Lots of tourists around. Mostly outdoor seating. Wait was over 40 minutes because they lost order ticket so good was on the house. Cash only. Variety of beers.
Very good pizza for a good price. I thought our server was fantastic and made sure we were covered on drinks. The pizza was fairly large and it definitely allowed for leftovers for later. Not the biggest place and you have to pay with cash but overall a great place to check out when visiting!
Been a number of times. Pizza has always been fresh. Slices are HUGE! Delicious. Not greasy. Helpful to just bring cash. Mainly outdoor seating so good for people watching in the square/city market. Small place but gets busy quickly. It's in my top three pizza places around here.
Delicious pizza. Staff can be a bit lackadaisical and inattentive, but the food and prices make up for it. The owners are incredible personable and kind.
The manger is super nice! The food.. awesome. We always start with 1 slice & that's it by the time your done your stuffed. These aren't your average slices more like 2 in 1 slices! CASH ONLY! But so worth it!
Best pizza ever in my opinion. Delicious and worth any amount of wait. Also a good selection of draft beers. Usually a really cool crew working making it a fun place to eat and drink.
The pizza is great and we love how it is in City Market! The main issue with this place is the staff The host are not very friendly and the servers are not friendly at all. With a party more than 4, be prepared to sit uncomfortably! You will sit with 2 different size tables with barely any room to eat. Also squished in between other tables. Overall, we really enjoy the pizza!
This place is great! It is in City Market, which is a fun place to walk around (lots of bars, restaurants, shops, a fountain for kids to play in).The pizza is amazing and if you are not sure what you want, you can order a couple of slices of different types. The slices are actually better the the whole pizzas because they put them in the oven a second time, which makes them slightly more crispy. The slices are also HUGE. They serve some beer, 3-4 wines, and soda. You can sit inside or out; we prefer out, as it is less crowded and hot. I would definitely recommend going here!
