Sara the owner is one of those entitled people I honestly cannot stand to be around which is funny cause we just went there to eat and she has a very snob sense about her. Its just not genuine honestly. I wanted to find a place that myself and my foundation could meet at. Way too liberal for me so that is that I suppose. I heard her say once "I'm a princess" are you kidding me grow up. I wish there were just nice people that didn't seem fake. Never again.

We had breakfast there yesterday morning, arriving about 9:15 AM. The service was very slow as was the delivery of food which was lukewarm by the time it arrived. Two of us chose eggs Benedict… Don’t bother with thatThe hollandaise sauce was thin and tasteless and using a scone in lieu of an English muffin was another terrific mistake. This is a great little bakery for sure as all the food from the bakery is better than first-rate, however if this is the normal Restaurant experience they won’t be around very long. All in all it took us an hour and 45minutes from the time of arrival till the time we paid the bill and left - mostly spent waiting for food.

Excellent service along with very good food. Food is made from scratch, and delicious. Located in a vacation town, during the height if the summer season the restaurant is very full. They have a bar for those that partake. They also have outside seating. Check out their bakery goods before they are gone! Delish.

This is everything a breakfast place should be. Great options (the veggie hash is a must), with a bakery on the side that even offers farm fresh eggs. The mis-matched interior is cute and quaint. The owner was passing out pancake samples while we were there, and she was adorable. The only downside was that the waitress for got our coffee 3 times, and then forgot our re-fills! Aside from that, I will definitely be visiting again when I am on that side of the state!

amazing place! I LOVE the molasses cookies. The French toast was awesome! Muy husband's breakfast sandwich was incredible! Plus i found the perfect gift for my best friend! The French baguette bread is pull apart and so chewy and flavorful! I can't say enough great things and our waiter, George, was awesome!

A great place for any meal, they do need more to promote their dinner options. There is a nice bar and their Pizza is probably one of the best in West Michigan. All they would need is a small sign saying "Village Tavern" to let people know this gem exists as a valid dinner option!

My family's experience here has been pretty good up until our most recent visit, when we had several problems. We made a special request in our order which, even though our server assured us she understood, was still was brought incorrectly. We realize mistakes happen but when we asked her to fix it, she responded by asking if we wanted something different. We asked for what we originally ordered, which made her extremely irritated and when she brought the corrected order she almost threw it down on the table. At that point we noticed there was still a mistake with the order but we didn't feel comfortable asking her to correct it again. Then I realized I had no silverwareno big deal, these things happen. When she passed by, I asked for some. She came back with only a fork, but I also needed a knife so I asked for that too. Then she rolled her eyes and brought the knife with a sour expression on her face. We noticed her demeanor was pleasant with the other tables, so this was clearly a struggle to provide solid customer service. In my experience, this is typically a reflection of the owners in terms of the expectations they set, and the training they provide, for their employees. I don't think this will happen again, but I'm disappointed in this visit.

The food and atmosphere is fantastic!! The service was beyond horrible!!!!!! We waited 10 min to be greeted at the door. Then, once seated, waited another 10 min for a server. Once the server got to us, she took our entire order, then was gone for 15min, came back and said she lost our ticket. Server took our order AGAIN and we didn't get our food for an hour and a half. She never even checked on us once!! She didn't even give us syrup for waffles. Had to serve ourselves getting our own syrup and ketchup! Came in at 11:15 we are now finally leaving at 1:30we came here for breakfast.. again food is phenomenal! Service is worst I've ever had!

I visited the Village Baker with my fiancé at 4:30 on a Tuesday to meet with our wedding officiant. We just needed a space to chat for a half hour. Two waitstaff kindly asked if we would like menus and we declined both times. It seemed they understood what our purpose was and since there were multiple open tables, left us alone. Then, George approached us and insisted we order drinks because "this is a business". When we declined, he persisted with an attitude and made us feel very unwelcome. We eventually all ordered a beverage. I understand that the point of running a business is to sell a product to your customers and make money, but to rudely force your product on potential customers is the wrong way to go about things. We could've been future customers had we been allowed our privacy. It would have been a completely different situation if there were paying customers waiting to be seated but that was not the case. If you have a mostly empty restaurant you should treat your patrons with respect regardless of their intention to buy. This is called the "hospitality industry" for a reason. If this is a result of management pressuring their staff to perform, please reconsider your business practices. If George took this upon himself to treat us this way, please redirect his behavior. I hope this review is more helpful than hurtful and can keep you from losing more business in the future.

Delicious, fresh and scratch made. Why? The owners are there each and everyday making sure their guests are well taken cared of and that the quality exceeds expectations every visit. From the perfectly baked pretzels to the considerate amenities in their ladies restroom every "t" is crossed and "i" is dotted. Attention and pride in every detail makes this place priceless!

I've always gone to the Baker's Wife in Grand Haven but I finally had time to visit the Village Baker. I am so glad I finally had time to eat there. Service was great and food was delicious.

We go there for the great selection of pizzas but there are plenty of other good choices on the menu. Lots of bakery delights to eat there or bring home. It is one of our favorite places to go.
