The staff is helpful and are willing to help you to the fullest extent of their knowledge and skill. Yes, lines may be long in some departments (financial) but it's understandable because they aren't superhumans. Well maintained and clean campus I love the peace and serenity you often find there while studying in the library and on campus. The school as a whole can't be blamed for the stiffness and harshness of some professors; you just have to be careful who you choose.

The communication in vvc (Financial aid for example) are sluggish, slow and lazy. I been waiting patiently to be called on for turning on paperwork, its just 3 pages Thats it! Then there are Windows open and thought they be productive but NO!!! They put me in a long line where is no point of return. Even there are less opportunities to choose from careers, mines is an art career but they never show options for achieving them, its just sad.
(Update!) Plus the times the lost and found and student services hours are short than the police department they are never always responsive and really don't show care for others. I rather transfer to a better university instead of spending my financial aid funds to the community college who don't provide good services to anyone and the lack of major opportunities.response / report this review -

I would give this school more stars, if I didn't have such a problem trying to get by. I was refunded 30% of my financial aid award, which was like $620. Books by themselves were about $450, and that was because I rented one. Which, turns out the professor wasn't happy with. So, I had to go back and buy the book that was $158. In my previous college that I was at before I moved here, I never had a problem with being able to afford my books and more. They refunded me all of my reward with less than 12 credits. I understand college can be expensive, but that's why I have financial aid. So, I can pay for my school supplies without a problem. I've spoken to plenty of classmates that are genuinely there to learn, and are having trouble getting by as well. Other than that, I think some of my professors are great so far. Just wish VVC would get it together when it comes to the whole financial aid department in general.

It's a pretty decent school. it's a pretty decent place to get your Associates degree but from what i can currently see, they are making improvements to make it look like an actual college.

Terrible college. Shouldn’t even exist at this point. It says financial aid hours are from 8:30 to 4:30. I went in one day at 10 and was told that they were closing for the day and just helped their last customer was told to come back another day. Came in today, before they opened and there was already a 3 hour wait. Couldn’t wait because I had to be at work. All I need to do is turn in a stupid paper and was told I couldn’t just scan and email it in This is ridiculous and it’s a complete waste of time. Done with this school. I will go to another school.

Never cared for this place. Decent library with study rooms as well as a nice lake, but other than that it's pretty dumpy and not ran so well. They spent a huge amount of money on ROCKS to decorate the campus (as if the students weren't already well aware that they live in a desert) while ignoring needs of different departments. They aren't terribly well equipped for assisting students, either. Professors were a mixed bag, too. Maybe it's gotten better since I went but as I remember, it was lackluster at best.

Not good when it comes to helping others Time for retraining is the better word of having each Dept. Start learning business ethics to get the job done professionally. Someone needs to express some kind of effort of demonstrating on how to speak with respect, SIMPLE

Great institution. I feel that while attending VVC I’ve learned so much. All of the instructors and counselors I’ve encountered have been instrumental in guiding me to success. VVC has been a perfect launching pad for my educational career.

I received two associate degrees from here which I was able to use towards getting a bachelors at a university. The campus location is great, parking can be horrible as well as school services. But it gets the job done. I never felt safe walking around alone here at night so be careful.

big plans for a very small tool. A senior research scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Noy has devoted a significant part of his career to perfecting the liquid alchemy known as desalination—removing salt from seawater. His stock-in-trade is the carbon nanotube. In 2006, Noy had the audacity to embrace a radical theory: Maybe nanotubes—cylinders so tiny, they can be seen only with an electron microscope—could act as desalination filters. It depended on just how wide the tubes were. The opening needed to be big enough to let water molecules flow through but small enough to block the larger salt particles that make seawater undrinkable. Put enough carbon nanotubes together and you potentially have the world’s most efficient machine for making clean water.

A good college with good instructors and classes. The classes were interesting, and teachers were good. However, not all courses were transferable, and I had to retake several courses at the university!

SAC building good for itching sack after a long day of studying.The restrooms are perfect for taking a big one too. Squatty potty is a must, gotta get that gold.

I don't like it when I was first at study since 2007, but been the wrong time to moved to Los Angeles for 7 years, returned to VVC, they are changed and interpreters aren't skilled with America Sign Language and they are JW and so annoyed, when I asked my old teacher more questions. One interpreter don't get it when I asked, like again I said like 3 to 4 times and I said never mind before I left. They are so rude and didn't want me to ask the teacher and I wanted to more learn with the teacher could be happy to explain. But, Interpreters are all so SUCK and I left the VVC last 2 years ago. I will not return there ever again!
One thing, a teacher kept to rushed with reading and write as not the process of this paper had been following with date for right the time. They gave us confused and we need to slow down. That is why they gave me so frustrated and left.
Because teachers had no respect with other disability (deaf people) been work hard on for 7 - 8 years because of problem English, my good friend told me everything. She feels so wasted of her time for 7-8 years, she should be graduation this year or next year, but she didn't make it because of English class and missing 12 classes and she quit VVC.
The DSPS - Who had been judging and more discrimination on a few people are on the team and forced on 2 friends are separated from a team. They do not disrespect and can't even tell what do they doing. They aren't children or high school and they are adults, they are all the right to decision on the team.response / report this review -

It's a good college if you know what you want. If you plan on transferring to a 4 year college I would recommend completing your general education here. If you want to graduate from VVC don't get an Associate's in Liberal Arts because its useless. Look into the classes offered at the lower campus as that is where any career path education can be found with the exception of Nursing.
