Great bar, great food and amazing waiters
We attended a private party there. The appetizers and buffet meal were very good. The shrimp and oysters were a hit, and I was particularly impressed with the cheese and fruit offerings. The staff were pleasant and helpful for the most part. The proprietor seemed rather stressed, and I didn't see him smile at or engage anyone, which made me wonder if he was thinking instead about the money he was possibly not making from his regular Saturday night crowd. (We noticed several small groups look disappointed to read the "closed for private party" sign on the door.) I heard multiple complaints during the evening about it being much too cold in the venue, but I don't know if anyone addressed this directly to the staff. The loud music made it unpleasant for conversations, and the passive-aggressive playing of "Happy Trails" around 9:45pm did not go unnoticed.
I would make one last suggestion for the bar staff to simply keep a few pitchers of water available for those who were not drinking alcohol (i.e.: designated drivers) to help themselves.
Best bar in the financial district best food you can get in the area
A good spot, refurbished. Get the pro belly skewers!
Classy drinks, good food, and decent atmosphere for something downtown. Old pinball machines are a nice touch.
Why is it always so cold in this place?? Staff is friendly with quick service. Food is decent. Don't know why the A.C. is on full blast when it's 50 degrees outside.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere here and they had $1 bud light drafts which was nice but the place was empty when I went around 10:30 they start charging $10 cover at 10 which I am fine with if there is actually people in there but if there is no demand it dosnt seem worth it.
LOVED the bartender! Pleasant ambience, didn't have to scream over music, and had great drinks. Highly recommend.
Stars for this place is not for the wait staff. Rude and very agitated especially on a drinking day. Prices are a bit high for basic mediocre spirits, how are the Millennials supposed to drink. ;-)
4 stars for Security staff doing there job and doing it correctly, people complain but who r they going to blame when something happens and basic security procedures are ignored.
Ambiance is awesome and inviting. Will come back again when less of a crowd is present.
The food was delicious, and is a very nice bar in a great location. However when we got there they are a little rude about it being March madness and they had a lot of reservations. We gladly took a very small table in the corner, but They never really filled up. Anyway, the food was very good and reasonably priced.
Not a good environment to be at during the night. The DJ, bouncers, and all their buddies hanging around the DJ booth, mean mugging people, make it very uncomfortable to move towards the dance floor. Bartenders are great. Security and music staff are straight up jerks with no instigation.
Went there once. Will never go there again.
Seemed like a place to have a nice dinner. Vanderbilt: a historically wealthy family that, without a doubt, has no affiliation with this company. In the entrance, there's a display case of 20 some odd cubbies each filled with a black, fitted hat that have to bar's name written stylishly on them. The hats are cool! But that should've been enough right there to prove to me that it wasn't the upscale place my friends and I thought it was when we made the reservation.
Good for food and drinks, but what the place turned into at night ruined the whole experience for us. :\
I just don't want anyone else to make the same mistake we did.
