They are WAY overpriced. The staff is super polite and courteous. They were fantastic with my dog and very helpful but the bill isn't worth it. I called around and every place quoted me on average 180-200 dollars less than their services. I wish their prices were as good as their manners and service. I had to pay an almost 600 dollar bill. Wont be going back
Very Caring. Took our 8 year old rescue cat with severe asthma in when he had a bad attack. Of course he got better by the time we arrived. They didn't roll their eyes or tag me as a hysterical pet owner, just took good care of my cat. They also made some suggestions about ways to lower the cost of medications he'll be on long term. And they were all working Thanksgiving evening. Not the cheapest place in town, but they care about your pets and understand when an animal is frightened or upset. They also made sure my cat's toy stayed with him through the exam, shots and x-rays. Thanks so much!
The Best most compassionate vet Dr. Freiburg! Thank you for taking such great care of Ellie and us. You really are amazing!
David Phillips thank you for recommending them. Thank you Dr Fujiya and Dr Thomas for working with us and VCA for our needed 24 hour care needs. And Thank you Leroy for looking in on our baby during your very busy shifts.
My experience was absolutely horrible. Besides the fact that my dog was fairly ill, the old male vet assistant with long hair and a ponytail that helped us was extremely rude and unprofessional. First off, checking my dog in was frustrating. He was speaking to me like he had no sympathy nor cared for my dogs situation. In my honest opinion nobody should have a profession they aren't passionate for. If he doesn't enjoy his job he shouldn't work there if he can't help make the animal and owner feel comfortable. My dog was throwing up severely and needed fluids. He was unable to tame my dog during this process so he had my boyfriend put a muzzle on him and hold him. While I sat and watched he jabbed the needle in his back. From previous experiences at other veterinary clinics, I've had vet assistants make my dog as comfortable as possible by simply talking to him or being gentle. And mind you, they didn't even need a muzzle because they knew how to handle animals. This guy was extremely rough with my dog. With this job you should know how to treat an handle an animal. When he was finished he told us that once he pulled the needle out only a few drops of fluid would come out. Once he pulled it out, it spewed out fluid. He wouldnt come near my dog because my dog snapped at him so he told my boyfriend to apply pressure. But even with that, he didn't show us exactly where or how he just walked out. My boyfriend was holding my dogs back with fluid/ blood dripping from his hand. This vet assistant didn't even tell us how to handle this. The only reason why my dog snapped was because he could sense his vibe. For one, there was no reason to be scared because he had a muzzle; two, being a vet assistant you should know how to treat these situations. Mind you he WAS NOT aggressive to the vet and the other female vet assistant that checked him a few minutes prior.
Overall this guy was extremely rude and unprofessional. I've never met someone that didn't get along with my dog. And for him to end our visit by telling me how to handle my dog by saying I need to socialize him more is ridiculous.
I will not be returning. They were very nice and when my pet did get seen the vet convinced me to get an additional service (I found out later that was unnecessary). Here's the real problem: at every point I asked about the price. I asked when I called before I came in, I asked twice when I checked in as a new customer (with two different receptionists since I had gone home the first time - the wait was so long), I asked before I agreed to the extra service. At NO point was I told there was a $60 fee to be seen. That may be perfectly reasonable, but when I've been told multiple times "It will just be $25 for the shot" it was a shock to get the bill. I probably still would have paid it, but would not have gotten the extra service. I will not return. I don't care how nice your staff is, if you are deceitful, you can't have my business.
If you go to this vet, I 100% recommend seeing Dr.Franz. She went above and beyond to help me and save me money. Also her assistant, Rob, was very thorough, sweet, and helpful!
Our dog passed away suddenly while we were on vacation. Our regular vet didn't have time to see her, even though they were 4 minutes away and didn't close for another 30! VCA did cpr when our dog sitter brought her in but she was already dead. They were almost a 30 minute drive away. At least they tried, unlike All Creatures Vet Clinic! VCA was so great. They took a cast of her paw and didn't judge me when I asked what the cheapest option was to care for her remains. They also went the extra mile and didn't ask me to pay anything until we came back from our vacation. We appreciate everything they did for us and our sweet girl.
We originally brought our little lady, Sage down Friday night. She was bleeding from her toenail, and it wouldn't stop. VCA was the only place open (thankfully). From the moment we walked in, we were treated so nice. The entire staff was warm and comforting. After they took her in, they came back out and told us what needed to be done, and how much it would cost.
While we were waiting, several other dogs and their humans came in. I watched as the staff came out to find what was wrong with each one. It made me feel good, knowing that they were in good hands. The staff showed such compassion for each one.
This morning, our little girl was not doing good. We were afraid that maybe she got an infection.
So we went back, and then they gave us the news. She was not doing good. The Dr. took time to discuss the options, the good and the hard ones, She left us alone for a time to discuss what we wanted to do.
After we decided we did not want her to suffer, they let us say our goodbyes to her. They let my wife stay with her until the end.
They brought her out to our car. They kept saying how sorry they were for our loss. I didn't get the young lady's name, but she hugged us both.
Everyone we dealt with there this morning, told us the same thing.
I can not thank the entire staff for their compassion and understanding in such a difficult time for us.
Very bad. I am extremely irritated to know NOW that my dog has cancer. And that is why she got Anemia. The doctors there told us it might have been because she was bitten by a tick. But the other vets told us that
the anemia was most likely caused by the cancer that she has. The anemia problem happened on thanksgiving week. Meaning that she has had cancer ever since that day and the vets there did not notice even though we had multiple checkups. The other vets, and on the the first day, noticed it right away. I definitely do not recommend this veterinarian clinic
I felt like they didn't care about my cat at all, all they wanted was money. They never showed compassion for my sick cat nor and ideas of why he was sick. All they wanted was for us to pay almost 1000$ for testing. She said he was dehydrated and never offered to give him an IV. And when I called they said to come in no wait but then we get there and all the vets are in a meeting so had to wait an hour awful place.
In late 2015, I took my young, otherwise healthy 2 year old guinea pig there during emergency hours because he was having some respiratory problems and guinea pigs go downhill FAST so I knew it could be urgent. I had a GREAT small animal vet in Tennessee who taught me a ton over my 10 years of having guinea pigs (we dealt with injuries, cancer, heart conditions, and special needs animals! I'm no newbie!). I was assured on the phone that the person who would be seeing my guinea pig was competentso I trusted that the veterinary professional would know what they're doing.
Wrong. She diagnosed him with "asthma" (that's right, guinea pig asthma). He was given a steroid injection AND antibiotic, both of which were for dogs and TOXIC to guinea pigs. He ended up in gut stasis and near death. Thankfully another vet at this facility did her best to save himand I stayed up day and night to care for himand he recovered from the respiratory problem but had severe digestive issues for the rest of his short life. Every few weeks I'd have to miss work to stay home and feed him with a syringe every hour until he was better.
He died last April while I was out of town for a wedding because he had an episode and I wasn't home to syringe feed and hydrate him. All because of complications from that moron who gave him dog meds instead of just telling me Washington has different mold in the air than our last home and I just needed to buy a hepa filter for the pet bedroom (yep, that simple).
I was told by the vet who tried to save him that I should take him to a specialist up in Seattle. I tried to get copies of his vet records from VCA so that the specialist could know exactly what was done, and was told multiple times that I would get them and NEVER got them. They were never faxed to the specialist, either.
Also, it cost a small fortune to end up with my pet worse off than before I brought him in (and dead). Part of the treatment and meds to recover him was waived, but I was still out for the initial emergency visit that CAUSED THE DIGESTIVE PROBLEM as well as an unnecessary flea medication.
I guess the moral of the story is, when you move to a new state you can't trust anybody. I am only saying something now so that people with small animals will think twice before taking them to VCA because not every vet there knows how to treat them safely, and not every vet will admit that they don't know. Double check. Read reviews. Google any meds prescribed for their safety. Don't let someone's ego or lack of resources hurt your animals. My lapse in diligence allowed an incompetent vet to hurt my Watson.
They still send me reminders to bring in my pet they basically killed. No one ever apologized or contacted me about what happened even though I brought it up many times.
I don't recommend going here, obviously.
I just had my puppy spayed here. The staff took very good care of my girl, and I was able to get her microchipped at the same time as she was being spayed. I always feel like I, and my pets, are in good hands when we come to VCA. Thank you!
Absolutely love this animal hospital. I have taken a few of my animals here and received nothing but the best care and treatment that I have ever had anywhere. I am saddened to find out that Dr. Richter left the hospital and relocated. I am actually going to be bringing my puppy to them hopefully for care in the next week or 2. The staff make it so welcoming and loving and have been nothing but caring and kind and handled each of my animals with love and smiles. As a matter of fact they saved one of my dogs lives a couple years ago. She was half dead by the time I got her there and they took immediate action and saved her life 3 days before Christmas from being poisoned with rat poison. I will always count on them for care until I feel otherwise. Thank u so much for all that u have done for me and my furr babies. See u soon VCA staff, love the Ewing-Naillon family
