Over cooked fish on a stale roll, clam chowder had good flavor but was not thickened, I ate here before and it was much better.

A family oriented, semi-upscale restaurant conjoined with a fun bar and excellent wait staff makes Used to Be's the best bar in Mantoloking. The bar holds different events each night catering to different tastes, ensuring there is always fun to be had for any interest. And if staying in at your beach house and enjoying some drinks with friends while watching the sunset sounds more alluring, the liquor store they offer is well stocked with all the favorites.

Be careful to watch your money on the bar. Barmaid and bartenders (Not all but more than one) will overcharge or seek to take/charge extra or short change you if your not careful. This unethical culture happens regularly on crowded nights with bands. Was not the case in prior years. Customer beware!!

They let too many people in over capacity. No music on just people yelling. I was feeling too cramped and didn't enjoy myself. After less than ten minutes decided to leave I was about 10 ft from the exit and girl wouldn't let me pass. Once I did she kept hitting me in the back of the head while a grown man over a foot taller than me pinned me with his body weight against another group of people. A gentleman and my sister had to grab my arm to pull me out. I was so shook my hands were shaken. Very dangerous. I would NOT recommend.

My Cheers bar! It's "where everybody knows your name" and you're treated like family. The food is fantastic too!!
