Gorgeous theater! Perfect place for a up close concert experience. Staff is super nice and very helpful!
The Uptown Theater is a true Kansas City icon. We love going to concerts there (Jewel and her family were incredible). I still remember going to see “The Sound of Music” movie there. Truly one of Kansas City’s best places!
Nice venue to see a show, but the alcohol selection is seriously lacking. No red wine at all, and no diet soda at all. The beer choices were basic domestic with one wheat and one pale ale. I'm generally pretty easygoing when it comes to drinks, but I had a really rough time with the limited selection. Bartender was patient and helpful though. She seemed somewhat embarrassed to have to keep stating to several people that there was no red wine or diet soda. I wasn't the only one disappointed.
I absolutely love this space. Amazing woodwork coupled with a well stocked bar make the place perfect for private events and shows. The sound system is always well balanced and lighting is top notch. Seats are a bit small but the theater has been around quite awhile and let's be honest, most of us have gotten bigger than our ancestors.
Parking is across the street in a medium sized lot as well as on the street.
All in all, well worth a visit for a show.
They have a wide variety of concerts and events here. Was built in the 1920's with updates done in 1996. The entrance, main hallway & main concert hall are all hand painted with beautiful details. Reminds me of an old opera theatre.
The building was great, security checked for weapons, I felt safe once I was inside of the building, though I walked a couple miles to get here on broadway and felt a bit uneasy. Watched a famous author and radio personality Garrison Keillor and had a blast. Seats were comfortable and staff helped us find our seats.
Went to a concert there. Average prices for drinks. Clean bathrooms. Good ventilation. The staff had a pretty orderly system for getting people in, around, and then out. Was a really fun concert too!!!!
This is a beautiful place. The concert vibe is amazing. It's very historical and has amazing art around the building. The sound was fairly good very loud. Free parking which is always a plus. Great concert venue.
I had traveled to KC just to see an outdoor concert with one of my oldest friends, but it was rained out and moved to the Uptown Theater. I was a little concerned until we walked in and saw the amazing interior of this building. It turned out to be one of the best shows either of us had ever seen. The acoustics here are outstanding, the setup of the lobby areas are perfectly laid out, and the interior of the theater itself is absolutely gorgeous! Intimate, while still large enough to hold a good sized crowd. My friend and I both say that we would travel back just to attend an event here. Can't overstate the quality of the sound. Highly recommended!!!
I love my experience here. I saw Ingrid Michaelson in concert. My friend and I got there 30 minutes before the concert started and got in line. We got good seats and had a wonderful time. The venue was very nice the seats are comfortable and the workers were friendly
My grandfather helped renovate this theater. I have so many awesome memories hanging out in the theater as a kid, before it was redone, in its original state! This is by far the most beautiful theater you'll ever experience in KC!
Plenty of room to mosh with seats in the back for scrubs. The sound quality is amazing combined with the architecture
Saw a great show here, the venue is beautiful and has great seating. Park across the street was easy and free. Only down side the bar is overpriced for the options available.
Great place to see a show. Has a cool bar area up front for before and after show drinks. Very cool theater setting
