We went Christmas Day to Islands of Adventure only and I have to say it was a neat experience. Not super crowded. Festively decorated. My 17 year old daughter and I had a great time. The light show on the Harry Potter Castle at night is quite spectacular.
Amazing place for people of all ages. So much creativity. Team has taken lots of effort to make this place a wonder. If you are fan of Harry Potter and fantasy you will definitely like this place. The shows are amazing. The place is very crowded during holiday season so plan accordingly.
This place is amazing and great to take kids of all ages. The Harry Potter attractions, buildings, shops, etc were mind blowing! They did such a good job! The rides are fun and with the Unlimited Express Pass, The wait is minimal if you even wait at all. The reason I only rated as 3 stars is because the Unlimited Express Pass was significantly higher priced than what I had seen online. Not sure if it was because of the dates attended? And after paying the astronomical charge for the pass, there were still a few attractions you couldn't even use it on. Pricing for food, beverage, and souveniers is absurdly high, but anyone who has come to one of the Disney or Universal theme parks, knows this already and can plan accordingly. Great trip overall, just gouged the bank account!!
This park, along with Universal Hollywood Studios, are my favorite amusement parks hands-down. My mom and I had a great time experiencing world-class entertainment, modern high-tech rides, and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and managed the large crowds well. The rides are thrilling and fun. It is amazing what they can do with rides now. I would come back to the park in a heart-beat.
We had a grand time and everything was amazing!! It was an unforgettable time for my wife and I. Greatest thanks to Celina!! She did a caricature of my wife and I to add to our 10 year anniversary memory! Truly a gifted artist and wonderful person! Just watching her study our faces and asking us about our time there made the picture truly remarkable! The park staff was truly cordial amidst the masses at every attraction. I don’t know how they do it but everything was a wonderful experience to partake. Thanks for the memories!!
I love this place. It's very fun and great for friends/family trips. The new King Kong ride is amazing. Jurassic park is still so fun but needs some fixing up on the dinosaurs due to wear and tear. If you go on the Hulk rollercoaster, remember to take EVERYTHING off and store in a locker. Harry Potter ride is extremely fun so definitely check that out. The whole place is great to be honest.
Loved everything about this park. "The Hulk" coaster and the "Harry Potter" rides were my favorite. The lines are minimal and the entire park is well-kept. You can spend a whole day seeing all the little shops and areas. The employees are world class and so friendly. Chris on "The Hulk" coaster was especially friendly and helpful to us during a rain delay. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful place. There's something for all ages.
One of my favorite parks to visit. I have an annual pass so I often go to just walk around and people watch. The rides are very fun especially Spider-Man and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Tip: download the Universal FL app on your phone to get wait updated wait times and info about rides before you ride them.
This was one of the best theme parks I have ever visited. I traveled with one other person and had a great time. Staff was friendly and food was reasonably priced. We are a turkey leg in Jurassic park and it was very delicious. Harry Potter land was by far my favorite place and I would recommend buying a wand. Line waits were not bad and the people who complain and give the park a bad rating because of ride line waits are morons and are usually the ones who go in the middle of summer with everyone else in America. I would suggest any time before June and after July for smaller crowds. Will be visiting again in the future.
I love this park and have been a handful of times. Great park for the family, always clean and the staff is always super friendly! Nice shops and collectibles. Great rides! The best I have been on! Food and beverages a bit pricy at some locations, but fresh. Every time I go there is always something new. We had a great time as a family this past trip, and will be back again!
I'm not much of an amusement park guy (don't ride rides), but this park was great. The park is immaculate, the attention to detail in some of the areas (like the Harry Potter section) is incredible. For people like me that don't really ride the rides there is still plenty to do.
Park staff are very friendly and helpful.
My wife and kids had the express pass and said that it was well worth the added cost (at least for the rides where it could be used).
We ate at a handful of places within the park (can't remember their names) and it was all actually very good. Surprisingly good, actually.
All in all it was a great experience and I'd recommend it even for those who don't do the whole thrill ride thing.
Universal Orlando does an amazing job with both parks. Islands of Adventure is much larger then Universal Studios and offers more varied options for all different levels of enjoyment. Many thrill rides are 3D cart rides but tend to hold up very well. This park does not have as much shade as Universal studios so keep this in mind in the summer. My party visited over the Memorial Day weekend and used our time wisely and started with the popular rides first, ensuring shorter wait times for us. Overall we found there wasn't horrible wait times except for the one or two extremely popular rides.
All of the staff that we encountered were very intuitive and kept the magic going. One security guard asked me to put any cellphones, money etc in the x-ray machine. When he noticed I had my wand with me, he quickly amended the list to "and any magic casting items".
One major critique for Universal in general is their locker system. If you go over your free time you must pay before your locker will open, but you had to put your money/ cards in the locker to get on the ride. In addition, we were told that the card readers on the lockers would not take chip and pin cards.
Overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend a visit with the park hopper pass so you can ride the Hogwarts express.
Universal's Islands of Adventure is tons of fun to go to, especially for those who are seeking thrill rides. Each section is done to perfection and there's lots to do. If you're not interested in going on rides, some shopping, exploring, and dining can easily be done in the authentic sections of the park.
It would be advisable to dress comfortably when coming to this park, as you'll be doing lots of walking. Also, during summer the lines get insanely long. Fast Passes might be in your best interest, if you're interested in doing more in a single day.
Islands of adventure is a great theme park, but it lacks a few roller coasters and the lines are really long. There are only a few rides that may appeal to you, as this theme park does not have many attractions, so only a few will be worth your time. If you decide to come here, try to come before or after the usual holidays, because then the lines are extremely short. If you don't, then expect 60+ minute waits on many rides. Even if there is a long wait, many rides have a single rider line, which speeds the wait by 3-4 times, and sometimes, if you can even ride with one of your friends if you get in single rider lane together. Some rides I recommend are: King Kong skull island (this usually has the longest line),incredible hulk coaster, harry potter and the forbidden journey, and dragon challenge. The incredible hulk roller coaster has a really fast start(which I think is the best part), and the rest has many turns and loops. King Kong skull island is a ride when you are in a car and there are screens to your left and right which show 3d images of what is happening. It is extremely realistic.
This place is awesome had annual pass and everyone here is so nice and go out of their way to help. Lines for single riders are super fast and u always end up siting with your party. The bathrooms are always clean they always have someone cleaning them. The security is better they now have u walk through metal detectors. The parking is good and free If u have annual pass and they also have discounts on food and merchandise. I like this place better than Disney world
