Great place to hang out at night. Southern Breeze has reasonable food and drink. Try the fried gator, delicious. Nice entertainment on select evenings. Weekly car and bike shows. Lots for the kids too.
If your in the Orlando/Kissimmee area and want to escape that expensive MOUSE, try Old Town.
Historically, this was the original downtown. It was in the process of major renovation on several of its buildings while we were there. Not a bad experience, so we'll come back again. We ate at the A&W restaurant. Both the shops and rides gave it a carnival atmosphere. I'd feel comfortable there during the day, but in the evening it attracts, let's say, a fringe crowd.
I love this unique shopping plaza that will make you feel like if you are living in old times magic shows, bars and shopping great place to visit in Orlando..
Please make sure that you see the weekly cars shows in this place excellent.
Great place, great shops, awesome amusement park for the kids. Went on bike night. Seen some beautiful bikes. Defiantly better price for entertaining the kids versus those big expensive parks that you stand in line for rides for hours. And totally loved the pearl store, where you pick out your very own oysters and the owner opens it to see what pearl is inside. She also sets the pearl in jewelry or sells pearl jewelry. Great shops!!
We've visited Florida from the UK 7 times, and we also take a visit to Old Town.. We go when they have the car show. The atmosphere here needs to be experienced to understand it, but it's fantastic. There are plenty of interesting shops to take a look around and fun things such as go-karts and the fair. It's far better (and busier) at night, so i'd definitely recommend going late! .. Also, A&W American Food, has the best Milkshakes ever!!
Definitely better at night - it's pretty all lit up. The place has a definite boardwalk feel, with open shops and rides. A little shabby, but still nice and feel safe and family friendly.
it was a good experience although it has change a lot over the years. down fall was they charge $10 for parking and if you don't carry cash you have a problem. the Halloween theme was good
I ride here occasionally for bike night. It's always really fun and the atmosphere is great! The cops are great at keeping bikes from revving unnecessarily so it's pretty quiet for the amount of bikes here. There's a hole-in-the-wall sushi place that serves some pretty dang good sushi too.
Very nice! Everything is set in the 40's, 50's and 60's atmosphere. There's an amusement park right beside the place too! Didn't visit that though. They were setting up for an old car show, but couldn't stay for that. Place it's very clean!
This shopping and entertainment area has struggled for years, but is still a good place to walk around with the kids and stretch your legs for a bit. They have made great strides to improve and freshen up the overall look and feel of the area.
On weekends they hold car shows of one sort or another. Check their website for schedule of events.
The leather shop is a must see; with an old west look and feel, down to the plank floor. The air filled with the smell of fresh leather hide.
Flippers Pizza is a central Florida icon and has great fresh food to order. Sit and relax and enjoy an evening dinner and walk it off shopping.
Remember that by visiting here, you are supporting local businesses that spent their money here.
It could have been the day, but this place is not a something I could recommend for families to visit. Stores are run down, not much to see, and really didn't get it. Perhaps the carnival is the draw? We didn't visit that section. The draw to me was the description of Old Town which sounded interesting. If you're into people watching, then this place might be for you.
Having never been to Old Town I had no real expectations except for the reviews I read. I have to say this is a fun place to just walk around and spend a day. We enjoyed the shops and the sushi at Mr Sushi Express was great. We will definitely try to come back next time we are in Florida!
Many curiosity Shops that you won't find anywhere else. Check the store with all the stones (Black Stone Market!) and have the best pizza in Orlando at Flippers. Try to go before sunset. It's a relaxed place like a small town.
I really love all of the upgrades Old Town has done. The sushi is the best in the area! Jimmy Johns is good if you order there but very slow if you want delivery. I must admit I do miss some of the old rides but the new Ferris wheel is so beautiful! I swear it is captivating! Come out on a Friday or Saturday night to catch the car shows.
This place has free general admission, which is great. If you've ever been wondering where all the colorful lights are coming from off I4, you've come to the right place. Visited on a Friday evening with my sister. The crowd was a bit sketchy, but it was still an enjoyable visit. This is pretty much the same as the other Fun Spot location with a few added shops. Must try the tomb simulator next time!
