I wish I can give negative stars. Worst experience of my life with United reservations and I will never fly with United again. We were excited that the whole family was going to a trip to see grandparents oversea. Due to sickness of my child, last minute I had to change flight for myself and my little one while others family members stick with existing reservations. I book a new flight for my kid and I to fly a few days later. I got the confirmation email and even paid extra for preferred seats. Then to find out through reservations that they can't find my new reservations. Customer service supervisor was not even appologic and was twisting all the facts and never admit faults, was even accusing me for not showing up when I have confirmation of changing to another flight. My original reservation was consider no show and rest of the bookings all got cancel and all I got was, your account has been refunded and you will have to rebook. I am the supervisor and I am the only one to help. Ticket prices have gone 4 times more than my original booking and same flights with my family are not available. Thanks United, you have definitely won the worst in every category hands down.
I will NEVER fly with this airline again. To start my checked luggage was lost/stolen on my flight from Chicago to Houston. Despite the frustration and inconvenience this caused I have remained hopeful of a positive solution. But, I coming to the realization UA does not care and is not tentative when it comes to passengers and errors on their end. I filed a claim 6 weeks ago and at the time I was quoted 6-8week long timeline to receive my reimbursement. The status of my claim still shows “received.” Which means it has been reviewed and still in queue. I decided to call the claims department for an update. Not only is it difficult to located the correct number it’s also a loophole to get transferred to a representative. After waiting an hour to speak with a representative, I am extremely upset with the service I have received. No update was provided to inform me of the delay in the claims department. Which apparently is due to “all the stuff that happened in Europe. And had I not reached out I wouldn’t have received any status. As a customer who paid my hard earned money for my flight and to check a bag, just for this outcome and service, I am extremely dissatisfied.
I called United to purchase two tickets. One for myself, and one for my son. I asked the United agent to use any of our available flight credits towards the two tickets and I would pay the difference. When they sent me a confirmation email, I noticed only my name--so I called United. They confirmed that I had two tickets and sent me a confirmation email listing both myself and my son as passengers. On the day of travel we checked in at the baggage check area and got our boarding passes which included seat assignments. When we tried to get on the plane, I was told my son did not actually have a ticket. We were flying a red eye and needed to get back east for a funeral. United told me I would have to purchase a ticket or we would not make the funeral. They also charged me 20% more for the ticket. I called customer service and explained what happened the next day and they said to submit a refund request and United, "would make it right."
United Customer Care rejected my request in less than a day.
My husband and I are Silver Elite members on United and travel them often, however, the quality has diminished. The last flight we took from Hawaii to mainland, the entire entertainment system which United boosts about, did not work. No movie or TV the entire 6 hour flight. I realize we could have downloaded a movie, however, we do not because United has movies and entertainment. The flight attendants didn't seem to be bothered by this, but we were.
Additionally, the flight was delayed 2 hours and there was no explanation given to the customers.
I paid $189 for an upgraded seat plus the cost of an expensive flight. The mere thing United did was give me 500 points. That amount of points is "peanuts". I already have close to 150,000 points.
United, is that the best you can do to keep your customers happy?
I am rethinking my Silver Status.
Booked a flight 4-5 months in advance. While booking the flight website changed location from Allentown to closest cheaper alternative that i have missed to spot and after paying i realized that the flight is showing to Newark NJ. Called customer service and after 44 minutes of waiting and 15 minutes explaining got no help at all. I am done with United airlines! Last time i had a connecting flight on which they were late and refused to help me i had to pay over $600 to travel with Uber for the rest of the way! The line in Newark was the longest line i have ever seen anywhere. And they were not listening to people at all! The singer was right when he made the song about united airlines!
