The food quality here was pretty good. The chips and salsa were a little above average. There are vegetarian options on the menu. The music and sound levels weren't too loud. Seating was plentiful and quick for our weekend evening. There is a bar area with TVs. The drinks our group ordered were unique and we'll prepared. The service was pretty good. It was very nice how willing our server was to split the check exactly how we wanted it with some singles and some couples. That was very much appreciated.

Fun with the -321 nitrogen frozen margaritas and blowing smoke from the frozen meringue puffs. The Juanitas platter had a nice array enchiladas tamale and taco with rice & bean sides. It was big enough we split it and were pleasantly stuffed.

Full and noisy with lots of Hispanic families and runners from the Marine Corps Marathon. Good service and reasonable prices.

We really enjoy Uncle Julio's. The atmosphere is lively, the food is good, drinks are good, and friendly service. My husband and friends enjoy the place, and so do my kiddos, even. (Plus, from where I live in the Ballston (and Virginia Square) area, it's just a short, pleasant walk away. That means it's really accessible from the Ballston metro station--really just about across the street from it. All that said, the interior isn't designed acoustically well, really, so when there's a lot of patrons, it can get fairly loud inside. So, if you have a noise-sensitive person in your group, that's worth keeping in mind. At the same time, for the warm months, there's outside seating in the front, which is also pleasant.

The service was good. The dining room was spacious and clean. The food was just ok. I could make better at home. Beans tasted like there were out of a can, rice was dry, and tacos had more iceberg lettuce than chicken. I don't think I'll come back.

I was pleased with the variety of entrees. The atmosphere is nice for social gathering and on par with the price point. The service was pretty timely since we arrived at a low volume hour for a Saturday. Our server was nice, but my order came out as pork instead of fish and when that was corrected my order still wasn't accurate, but I had already been waiting the longest at my table so I didn't bother sending it back again. The restaurant offers 3 types of beans, but only the black beans are vegetarian while the others are cooked with pork. We didn't have the pork contents cleared up until after our food arrived and we ended up sending back all of the beans. One order made for black beans originally even came out as the house beans and had to be sent back with the lot. The specialty dessert was a redeeming factor, but it was $25.00. Overall the experience was alright, but I'm in not in any rush to return.

Our meals always turned out great (and they worked with my food allergy to make a safe meal). Table side fresh guacamole was good. Fresh made chips are delicious. Waiter/waitress service was okay. This place can get get really loud when it fills up. Often busy & crowded, but we've never had to wait.

I ate here on a Thursday evening at 7pm and the place was absolutely packed, inside and out. There is outdoor seating that is probably very nice at certain times of year and I imagine you can score one of those tables if you call in advance. The service was great and the time from order to food on the table was pretty fantastic to me, though I did eat more chips than I should have during the wait. I had the chicken enchiladas (I know, not very adventurous) and they were great. My wife and some others at the table who had the fajitas had nothing but good things to say about them. I didn't park in the area, but read on Google that parking wasn't always easy. One of my dining party said there is a parking area that has plenty of space that belongs to the building, but there is a charge (that is truly a surprise in the greater D.C. area.) If you don't feel like looking for or paying for parking, the Ballston Metro Station is right across the street (orange and silver lines.) Great experience, great service, and definitely a place to take friends to, as long as you don't plan on talking too much business, because the crowd can generate quite a bit of noise.

The service was so poor I had to give this one star. This is not my first time at Uncle Julio's. GREAT FOOD. Crappy service at this location.

We had heard that this 'farm to table' entire at the Washington Park Hyatt was remarkable, but we had to see for ourselves. It has the friendly Bon home-which we like - of many hotel restaurants-but this place is so much more. From the first course to the last, this is a culinary experience to savour!i had the oysters,as first course-Virginia sourced and quite good, but my wife had a fois gras of lobster and pork belly with a bourbon sauce so perfect and delicate as to defy description. As the main course,my wife had a slow cooked lamb shank as flavorful as I have ever tasted. My grandfather raised quail after he retired, and I had quail every Sunday,in as many ways as you can imagine-fried,broiled,smothered-you name it-but here I had fried quail in a honeyed sauce,so good,as we say- if you put a piece on top of your head, your tongue would beat your brains out trying to get at it!We finished with an olive oil cake dessert with grapefruit and passion fruit that was marvelous.A wine list more than adequate, and our server,Adrienne, who excelled at her craft, and what more could you ask?Outstanding!

Everything is made fresh daily and you can taste it. Great service and especially great food! They also have a fairly good selection of vegetarian options.

Uncle Julio's is still a good choice just less so than a few years ago. I have been going here for a few years and still enjoy it but the freshness and food quality have gone down in my opinion. The queso is great for appetizers and I would stick with fajitas as an entree. They have some cool dessert choices as well.
