Food is excellent. Inside is small & cold but there are allot of outside options. Nice atmosphere and environment. Outdoor entertainment on occasion. Service was ok. A bit out of the way but worth the trip.
How long do you have to stand at the register to order before someone will take your order?? Four different employees looked at us like we were aliens. I asked twice, "Are you open?" and no one responded nor cared to take our order. To be fair, after we walked out the manager came out after us and invited us back in, citing a misunderstanding. Obviously an employee training issue.
Open on Monday. Google info wrong. Excellent BBQ in a beautiful small alpine town. Brisket, Ribs, Pulled Pork are all very good. Sides are good too. They do run out of things. Plenty of parking. A few veg options. A large grassy town park out front is great for the kids. Shaved ice and milkshakes just next door. Restrooms, wheelchair accessible. Credit cards including Amex OK.
Revisited Huntsville BBQ under the new management and was very impressed! The meats were a better flavor and much more tender. Glad to see they are now open Monday evenings.
Great location with nice decor. I love that they have old chair lifts as benches. I had the sliced brisket sandwich and the brisket was a little tough. It was also expensive and didn't come with any sides. Probably won't go back with the better options available in Ogden.
Food is good, awesome BBQ sauce. If you order to go (which you really should) check it because it's not always right. The atmosphere is TERRIBLE. No music, no beer, nobody else talking. Worth driving to Eden for any local food.
My golfing buddies and I came in 6/29/17. I ordered the large salad for
$5.99. What they brought me was a salad that looked like they grabbed a
handful of lettuce from a Costco or Sam's Club bag of lettuce, cut 4 thin
slices of cucumber and served it to me. I went back to the counter and
pointed to the photo of a salad which appeared to have tomatoes, broccoli, and other vegetables - the young woman at the counter said she would check and, to the best of my knowledge, she didn't do anything.
Another member of my group ordered the Loaded Mashed Potato which is suppose to have potato, cheese, bacon, green onion and sour cream according to their menu. There were no green onions, maybe 3 bacon bits and I can't verify any sour cream or cheese. Another customer sitting by me was approached by the staff and told that they didn't have the cornbread and inquired if they would like something in replacement - this was in the middle of the day. I happen to see that same customer the next day and he mentioned that their entire meal was not as good as they had received before.
If that is the quality of meal we can expect from the Huntsville Barbecue Company, we will not go back. Unless this changes drastically, I would expect they will be out of business in a very short time.
Great BBQ! The pure gold sauce
Is up to par with my gold standard. Great
Food after a day in the snow
Fantastic food, great location, gorgeous surroundings, nice outdoor seating, and decent prices. Love this place.
Love the BBQ! The brisket, the chicken, the pork ribs. Very slow as each item is carved unless you order something chopped. Best times is after the lunch or dinner rush. Ask for the brisket ends if they have any left! This location is much nicer than the local franchise in downtown ogden!
Ever since I moved from Texas 5 years ago, I've been searching for some decent barbeque. Well the search is over. The brisket was smokey and moist, and the turkey was great. I liked the sauce bar area, lots of choices. They even had a awesome local brand of bottled sodas. The root beer was my favorite.
The atmosphere had me feeling like I was back in Texas. Also just outside was a quaint little old timely park area. My family enjoyed walking around and looking at the old buildings.
Service was fast, and the staff was friendly. Even though I live about an hour away, I will be back for sure when ever I am hungry for real Texas barbeque.
Some people may love this place, I am very very picky about my barbeque the night we visited I was not impressed, but many people recommended the place. Placing my order was difficult as the menu boards are not clear as to what is what i had to ask tons of questions and still felt like I was ordering in the dark. We probably won't be back to this location. But i recommend you try it for yourself. I don't believe our experience is the norm considering the locals love the place. I do try to be fair. It could be that what they do is just not my thing. On a positive note they keep the sauce on a heated bar so you can test them and then use as little or a lot to suite your taste. Only thing i would wish for would be one sauce that was not sweet as in spicy and vinegary no sugar or honey.
