I went there to buy a hamster and they had told me it was a male. I purchased the hamster and two days later it had babies so it was obviously a girl. I had to bring her back because she ate all of her babies and they gave me a new hamster which they then again told me was a male. The hamster was so aggressive I couldn’t keep him in my home and when I brought them back one of the managers was extremely disrespectful and embarrassed me infront of the whole store saying the hamster didn’t have balls and it wasn’t a male and he didn’t know who told me that even though it was one of their employees. The hamster cages are absolutely disgusting. They are full of mold and smell terrible. I would never buy another pet from there again. All of the employees are not educated enough about the pets they are taking care of and are very disrespectful to customers.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. YOU ARE SUPPORTING PUPPY MILLS IF YOU DO. If you really want a puppy, get one from a reputable breeder or get a rescue.

One of the assstants were racist the guy wouldn't let us seee the tag but he has black hair and wore red shirt and said we can't see the dogs. And when we asked for help he would just leave. When we asked prices he just said 1100 and 1800 we don't know which. So please take care of this also the lady in gray and red was nice but sense the guy was rude to us. We will not rate this 5 stars. Please fix this. We hate to be the people to make reviews bad but it has to. Also we asked the red and gray lady for seeing a dog and we were waiting and we asked the guy then he said we can't see them. Even though a lot of people saw the puppies

i was lied to over the phone and told there were no hamsters under $15 and then i went there and there were 2 hamsters for $10

It is like a free for all to get anyone to help you. The sales associates are few and far between, and there is a line just to talk to them. I was in the store for twenty minutes waiting for an associate to finish with their line of people having questions about fish. I eventually just gave up and left.

I go to uncle bills all the time, since I was a kid actually. I used to love seeing all the neat animals and cute puppies. I soon learned where these animals come from and how awfully they are treated. Half of the dogs look starved to death and don't fit in their cages. Every fish I've bought from them has died within weeks and everything they sell is just way over priced. I am now no longer shopping there and have adopted all my new animals.

When I was told that they sold puppies here, I would have never imagined something like this. Where do I start? First of all, the dogs are WAY over-priced. I was looking to buy this sweet little bull dog named Huck. $4,500. I could buy a car with that money. The staff at this store all say that they love their jobs, which is clearly not the case. The poop in the dogs' cages never get picked up, which is a HUGE health hazard. It appears that the puppies are not taken care of. The staff lets you play with the dogs in kennels. Every single day, these poor dogs are tired of being groped and abused by toddlers, and they get punished when they bite. The problem is, they're puppies and they're teething, so they are going to bite. Everything in the store is $20+ overpriced. There are so many more issues, but it would take a decade to list them all. I wish I could take all of those poor puppies home and give them the proper care and nurturing they deserve.

The dogs are abused here. Please do not shop here. If you have any compassion in your heart you’ll see the suffering these animals go through. Their cages are horrid and they are never allowed out of the cages unless you play with them or buy them.
I know some may take that as more of a reason to go help the puppies but you’ll just be supporting the store and that kind of practice. These are living beings. They shouldn’t be treated as things that are just a price tag. Don’t support these kinds of stores. Go adopt an animal. We already have millions of dogs and cats without homes who get murdered every year because no one wants them.
These puppies here are stripped from their moms and siblings and are stuck in jail cells unable to understand what was so wrong with them that they have to be kept alone everyday until they’re either bought, become to sick to sell, or die. Hamilton county has a pet shelter so go there or if you really want to help, go to Indianapolis’ shelter and buy a dog there. The shelter is a kill shelter because they have too many animals. I went here a few years ago to try to sell my chinchilla. I brought her in at about 2 years old. The chick whom is on the commercial (or used to be) was there and I spoke to her about buying my chinchilla because my daughter was too rough with it (she was only 2) and I was worried about her hurting it when I wasn't looking. The lady said," they only live 3 years, I am not buying that thing." I respectfully disagreed and said I did not believe that estimate was correct. She snapped, "Uh yeah it is, read a book!" I NEVER went back, I later found out that they buy from puppy mills and I helped make signs to boycott them. The owner is a foul woman and I now believe that the animals are not in good conditions. I am thankful I didn't end up selling her my chinchilla! I have never forgotten that moment, and I have never experienced such a hostile business owner before or since. I had hoped it was just a bad day, but I saw her regularly after this incident in an establishment I worked in, she was rude and short tempered. This woman needs to be far away from anything or anyone that are not able to speak for themselves.

Uncle Bill's is very understaffed and finding an employee is like trying to play "Where's Waldo" and when you find 'Waldo', they're usually condenscending, brief, and most likely seem hate your existence. Some aren't well-versed in handling some animals in their store and give you terrible advice. You can rarely find one decent employee and if you do, they're busy. The puppies are often sick and kept in closed containers most of the day. The exotics such as the hedgehog, are subjected to cold air when they are prone to hyperthermia, hibernation attempts, and respiratory issues in such temperatures. Often animals show signs of neurotic behavior, such as repetively running in circles, and twitching. Nocturnal animals are not safe as they are put out in bright light and therefore, have their natural sleeping patterns disturbed. The aquarium is a mess. We'll just mention the algae problem in the tanks and constantly ill fish and stop there. The reptile corner would have been forgivable, if the reptiles weren't put in such confining tanks as well as reptiles not being let loose. Finally, the prices. 5000 dollars for an animal that will have seizures and cost me more? Are you joking? I could get the same breed for less than half that amount. 2000 dollars for a MIXED dog breed? What a joke. Even the supplies are overpriced. Just don't get animals here, go to trusted individual breeders who know what they're doing and do your own research. Obviously, Uncle Bill's never did.

A lot of different species. There is an employee who doesn't seem to like letting guests play with the puppies though. Buying them or not, they need exercise from being cooped up in the tiny "aquarium" all day

They have good quality and great- fair pricing. I love that they sell high quality Amish bred dogs. I was a little disheartened by the fish being bred in the fish farms though, how appalling!!!!!! lol

This review is based off of the saltwater fish area. This place is a joke. Although it is better than the one on Washington ( it's more like an aptasia farm) this place isn't far from it saltwater wise. All of the tanks are full of algae, there are dying fish in the system, and the staff is uncooperative. I asked them if I could purchase a wrasse out of the overly priced frag tank which appeared healthy and they refused to even try! There is one employee in the saltwater area that has an idea what's going on. If you are a real saltwater enthusiast, don't waste your time here. Check out simply saltwater aquatics for coral or modern aquatics for fish and invertebrates. Take my word for it.
