This is definitely the place to stay in the Atlanta area! It is a beautiful campground in a great location. The owners and employees are friendly and very helpful. I will be staying there every time I'm in the area. Awesome!!!
This is a pretty little campground, a little out of the way but not hard to find. They provide no facilities such as playgrounds or even washrooms, so campers must be prepared to live self-contained. Highlight of the campground are the Twin Lakes which are teeming with turtles and fish! Campers are permitted to catch and release the fish. I would go back again.
3 week stay with my family. Very quiet spot, set back in the woods. we were placed in the gravel lot which wasn't shaded and got pretty hot in direct sun in august and didn't really have grass area or fire spot- just gravel and picnic table . the lakes are nice, neighbors quiet. drawbacks were no bath houses, laundry, and seems like many of the best wooded sites are taken by long time campers. overall clean, quiet, accessible to food and shopping.
Great staff, reasonable rates and excellent company!
I just stayed at this campground for a week. My 2 problems with this campground are. The owner did not tell me they have high water pressure. I hooked everything up and I left the site to go visit family. When I returned later that evening I found water leaking out from under my kitchen cabinets. Causing water damage. My camper is new a 2016 and I have used it 40 times over the last year that I have owned it. I never had water leak out until I stayed at this campground. My other issue is they have Roaches I noticed a couple in my camper. Then when I took up the jacks and picked the wood up the day I was checking out there were so many under the wood. Then I noticed everything else I had outside had roaches on it. I even just found 4 more roaches today on my bike rack that I was just about to put back in my basement. Yuck!!!!! After I told the owners of my 2 problems they told me I was the first to complain about them. So I am just posting this as a warning for other campers since they will most definitely not tell you about these problems. I will never stay at this campground again. Update 9-18-17 I am still finding roaches in my camper and in my house now I never had roaches until I stayed at twin lakes. So aggravated by this!!! I wish I never stayed at this campground!!! They should be paying my exterminating bill!!!!!!!!!!
Love this place! Come for a day, stay for a month. Friendly staff, well kept property, free Wi-Fi gir guests.
Beautiful lakes and trees all around the property. Felt like home, not a RV Park.
I highly recommend Twin Lakes!! Looking forward to my next visit.
We stayed here a couple times as my son lives in the area. The first time we stayed where there was sewer hook up right by the office but this last time we stayed by the lake without sewer hook up and I actually enjoyed it better due to the scenery. It is set up for a back in but I wanted to pull in for the view. We had extensions for the electric and had no problems hooking up. Very relaxing at this site. We never had any problems with water pressure or bugs both times we stayed. We are planning a trip north and we will be staying there again. Hopefully we can get another waterfront lot.
Well lit at night and The Fountains are beautiful. Grounds are well kept and they are very pet friendly
This place is quiet, but you're basically staying in a parking lot. No grass in between sites and the sites are close together
Very friendly staff and a beautiful location.
Biggest issue is there is no shower or bathroom facility. After being on the road for months and months now, this is the first place we have been where that is the case. If you are comfortable running a place with no bathroom, then charge a no-bathhouse price (and cash only makes me wonder about why it's a cash only operation). Then not only is there no bathroom, we got put in a site as an overnighter in a tight sidehill spot. The water was underground underneath a nasty soggy old piece of insulation that I was nervous to remove and find creatures underneath. When I plugged in, the spot was supposed to be 50 but it was 30amp only. No big deal in winter but if you are running AC in summer it might make a difference because you are right in the middle of a parking lot with no shade anywhere.
There is a nice spot to take your dog for a quick jaunt so that helps a little.
We came from North 85 and wow was the location a pain to get to. It's pretty easy if you are on 19 so use that arrival or avoid the place altogether. If you arrive at night, the turn is hard to spot as it's quite dark and the sign is old and barely readable. There aren't a lot of choices in north Atlanta but I would look elsewhere next time.
A nice clean park. Very convenient to Atlanta or the North GA Mountains. There are sites with and without sewer. Some sites are close together in bright sun, but are also pull-through. There are other sites that are large and shaded by woods.
There are no camp bathrooms or showers. There are mailboxes for long term campers and workampers. They have daily and monthly rates.
The beautiful ponds are private and campers may fish there but only the campers. There are dog stations conveniently located around the grounds.
Nice place to park an RV for a while. Well maintained, good rates, nice location. However, there is no bath house, laundry, or shop. Maybe RV parks are different than campgrounds, but I would normally expect at least laundry. The flyer says there is laundry a couple miles down the road.
