Best ER visit I have ever had. I've had a lot of them too. Reception went quickly and smoothly. I waited only ten minutes before my nurse, Paul came to take me to a room to be seen. All medical information was confirmed. He was funny, friendly, and 100% professional. Paul is a top notch nurse. Dr. Wilcox was thorough and intelligent while also being approchable and friendly. I'm having surgery in 9 days and it was imperative that my infection be handled immediately. Paul and Dr. Wilcox addressed every concern.
I was also provided with a very extensive and thorough list of resources for follow up care that addressed all concerns and even answered questions I did not think to ask at the time.
Paul even told me where to find a pharmacy that not only accepted my insurance, but was still open that late at night on the day before Thanksgiving.
I forgot my jacket, Paul made sure that was returned to me before I made it to my car.
Absolutely the best care I have ever recieved at ANY Emergency Room ever.
My infection is very painful, and that was acknowledged and addressed without any of the "normal drug seeker eyeroll" treatment. I recieved excellent pain management. I see other reviews here that state otherwise, but my experience was very different as my pain was acknowledged and addressed in a thoughtful and caring manner. When they asked me if I'd like a bit more help with pain management I said yes please, in complete surprise as I fully expected to not have that issue addressed at all. The infection was causing the pain and the pain would obviously reduce in a day or two with the antibiotics.
I was given my bottle of pain relief to take with me, label on bottle, and received my first dose of antibiotics before being released. That was something very thoughtful that I've not experienced in an ER in over 20 years.
I was treated like a human being by the ENTIRE staff.
I definitely recommend this facility and will return whenever I need emergency medical care.
My entire visit, from walking in the door to walking out to my car was less than an hour. Amazing.response / report this review -

I was having a mini stroke and they had gave me 4 chewable aspirin and in a ct scan with in 10-15 minutes of my arrival and kept me over night to make sure everything was good. I am greatful that this hospital is so close to my home. I let my family know if ever I need help again for them to make sure they take me to Bethesda.👍

I left Bethesda Butler Hospital $1366.00 later with blood work results and a script for an anti-inflammatory med. A week later I still had the pain behind my knee I went to the ER for. My regular doctor solved my problem with a script for $7.00 worth of steroids and no office visit. I guess I should be grateful they reduced my bill to $888.00 because I don't have insurance.
I have to add that the ER bill was in my mailbox before the pain was gone in my leg! I'll know if I'm eligible for financial aid in 3 months. That department is running a little behind. SMHresponse / report this review -

Went to the ER on a Friday for knee pain and I was sent home with anti-inflammatory meds. 1 week later and I'm still in pain. The staff was fantastic and the doctor was patient and helpful, but that was an expensive visit to still have to see another doctor to get the issue resolved. Calling the hospital resulted in a polite, "Sorry for your luck come back through ER if you want another diagnosis."

Went to the ER for my back, have done it before due to it being chronic. The first 2 nurses took my info and vitals, very quick to the point didn't let me explain my issue. I only saw the doctor once just before leaving and all he talked to me about is why they aren't giving me a script for pain meds, this is after having 3 shots and me telling him I'm still in pain and it didn't work. The nurse did the same thing pretty much pushed me out the.door while I'm saying I'm still in pain. They did no imaging or investigating into why I'm still hurting, just here bye call your doctor. Would not recommend to anyone who is actually in pain, they just assume you're lying, #1 thing I was taught as a nurse was to believe the patient unless given a reason and to not be judgmental. Maybe if you go during the day you MIGHT get better care.

ER was great Once I got admitted to the 2nd floor for heart problems it was all down hill from there. The night nurses were very rude. I spent 3 days there and to come to the dead end they said nothing was wrong with me? It was panic attacks, they did nothing for me and I left in more pain than what I was when I signed in the first day at the ER. Worst experience Iv ever had.. Going to get a second opinion now! I won't be going there again and I sure wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone with serious conditions going on.

I went to this hosptial because of a severe headache and I knew my bp was sky high. I was having trouble with my vision as well. I also advised both the nurse and doctor of my heart condition. Once they finally got me in a room and checked it, it was 221/144 and I was in so much pain. They let me sit there with no pressure cuff on and nothing to relieve the pain for 2 hours. in fact, when my boyfriend got there, the cuff was just dangeling from the monitor, laying on the floor. My speech wasn't good and I kept repeating myself to my boyfriend and he also mentioned this to the physician, who was unconcerned. When I told the doc I was also concerned about my blurry vision, he plainly said " you should go to an eye doctor". At that point I literally got up, got dressed and left , went to another hospital. Where they determined I was moments away from a stroke, needed nitro and other medicines. I still cannot beleive the treatment and ignorance there. My advise if it's serious, don't go to this place.. maybe just minor cuts and scratches!

I have a chronic condition and was rushed to the ER. Was seen and taken good care of, and was assisted for pain relief immediately. I was taken very good care of, and my husband was by my side. I do not know how service is by arriving by car to the ER, but I was very happy for the service received and the pain management.

I went to this amazing emergency room last night and had the most amazing experience. DR. Walker PA. Joey and nurse Betsy took the best care of me and were very thorough and there bed side manner was outstanding. I have been in a lot of emergency rooms threw out my life because I worked in the construction field and I have never been in a more amazing emergency room in my life and I'm 48 years old Thank You so much for your professional services and just all-around great service DR.
