The staff are very friendly and helpful! The place could is a little older and has areas that could be touched up, but it's nice to stay with groups. Large rooms. Indoor and outdoor pool. Bar. Great included breakfast (at least with our group). Shuttle to the mountain comes frequently and picks you up right outside at the end of the driveway. Still uses keys
The rooms are of an older style but they were clean and in good condition. I personally find that it adds a bit of charm to a Vermont ski trip. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were a great was to relax after a day on the slopes. They did have a small breakfast consisted of bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, coffee, and OJ. The location is less then 10min to Stowe and right in the middle of the restaurants around town. I would stay here again.
A bit dated but the service makes up for it. Very nice people.
We picked this hotel because they had a room with three beds (two doubles and a sofa bed) for three of us. When we got to the room, we found that one of the two heaters didn't seem to work, and the sofa bed was throughly unusable, with most of the springs missing and the center sagging by about a foot. They did move us to a room with three doubles and a twin, but my dad got a cut trying to fold the sofa bed on the way out. The general experience was not great. Heaters in the rooms take a while to warm up, the hot tub is a tiny little home hot tub type thing that wasn't all that hot. Breakfast food was acceptable, did not try any other meals at their restaurant. Showers were plenty hot. Overall the place is a bit run down and pretty dated.
Basic place, nothing fancy. Very clean. Close to everything. Staff is very friendly.
The cleaning staff took a wallet from the room. I do not recommend this destination.
It started with the dirty towels left in the room then I mentioned that I now didn't feel like they had swapped out the sheets. And as I striped the bed and noticed some really gross stains on the top cover and the mattress covers (obviously not cleaned in a long time). Super gross we had to leave before they came back to actually clean the room. We got back and one of the beds was moist.. the dead moth that was in the window sill was removed but not the blood. Which tells me they didn't clean a thing just swapped out the bedding.
Then breakfast my water glass had an obvious lip print. The waitress said 'when we clean at night it's really dark in here because we are playing movies for the lacrosse camp' so are you just wiping the glasses on the floor and not running them through the dish washer? Apparently you aren't checking the glasses before you fill it.
Their excuse 'we're really busy', obviously your standards are super low too..
I recommend finding a different place to stay
I liked this place because they had large rooms that are nice and spacious; They also had a nice pool. Overall, it was a good old hotel, nice and comfy. I had a good visit there.
Very clean! Staff was friendly and helpful and included breakfast in the attached restaurant was wonderful. The four rating is due to the old odor. Once we opened the windows, it aired out and was fine.
Great swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Quiet area but close to a fun downtown area full of antique shops, restaurants, cute stores, etc. The room is spacious and there's lots of activities around the resort.
Usually pretty fairly priced. The outdoor pool is huge, and great in the Summer months. Their rooms are a little dated If you are looking for a place to just lie your head at night, then this is your spot. In terms of comfort/luxury this hotel basically doesn't have any at all. The mattress I slept on was NOT OKAY.
I always thought that most people write reviews when they were mad. I told myselft I would write a review no matter what. We made our reservations in July, 2016. We called one week prior to our stay and asked if there would be a small refrigerator in the room and
were told yes. There was none. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice and promptly brought one down to us, but it didn't work. We did not have a "Do not Disturb" hanger on our door, so called the front desk and he said he would tell housekeeping. When we returned, housekeeping had been there, and we had a DND sign on the door.. Not happy! When we ran a tub of water for a bath, it was yellow. We let that out and tried again and it was somewhat better the second time. We could not take a shower. The water just loudly pulsed like a machine gun, I think because the people in the next room were taking a shower. We were exhausted from the day before and were woken by the neighboring room's shower at 6am. It was like a very loud alarm you could not shut off. No more sleep. We had a large room with 4 beds. You could not see the television from any of the beds. The bathroom was extremely small, the doorway was very small and there was standing room only.
On the positive side: The people were very friendly and the room was clean. The location was very convenient, only 5 minutes from our event. We did not use the dining room, spa or pool.
I was surprised to find a "Resort" with these issues in Stowe, Vermont.
Service was outstanding. Was originally staying at an air BnB but my girlfriend had an allergic reaction to something there so we had to leave abruptly. Honestly went to a Fairfield inn first from Marriott but they had no vacancies. Recommended going to town and country.
Rich greeted us, who had just turned off all of the computers for the night but happily booted back up to accept our stay for the night. He was welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable.
The room itself was a little dated. But ya gotta take what you can get. Plus the outstanding service made up for it. This is a family owned place and you definitely get that feel during your stay. Would have happily continued our stay here had it not been booked the next day.
Large room, weird smell on arrival but cleared with AC on. Outside pool cold but very big and empty. Nice pool and decent breakfast.
We did have a problem with the room/stay but management gave us our money back. Otherwise a nice cheaper motel. Would be great in the summer with the large outdoor pool.
Always a pleasure to stay here. We come once a year to ski and stay 4-5 nights. The employees are always super nice and the rooms have everything you need. The breakfast they have is super good too. Although I don't personally use my friends rave about the heated pool and hot tub. Definitely recommend this place.
