I'm not sure if the staff is purely apathetic or just poorly trained. I had meals four days in a row and each meal I had to wait unacceptable periods for service (restaurant was not even a fourth full) AND I had to ask multiple times for the same things. The breakfast buffet was average at best, but very overpriced.
The Torrey Rueben was great. It had a combination of corn beef and Waygu beef brisket. A little high price. Very nice view of the patio and gardens
The food was fine, but not for the amount you dish out! Service was pretty slow. I got a virgin margarita, a truffle fries and a regular fries to share (during happy hour) and my bill was $27. It was not even a meal-- just potatoes! Please consider adding some vegetarian options (or some marking that they could be) to your appetizers/menu. It would help a lot!
The food here is fantastic- something for everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is relaxed and resort-like. Highly recommend.
Slow service. Tried pork and honey chicken; food was just okay yet pricey (~$30 for a main plate). Watch your bill - we confirmed that kids eat free, but got charged anyways. Small amount - $18 out of $128 total - but that was a knife twist. They would have gotten more as a tip otherwise.
This is a gorgeous hotel! Clean rooms and hotel area boasts beautiful views of the ocean. Highly reccomend this location for any type of traveler.
Torrey Pines trails are wonderful, also with beautiful views
