Myself and 3 friends rented both two bedroom suites for a ski/reunion trip. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The big, south facing windows of our rooms as well as the main common area provided sunlight and sweet Vermont scenery. The terry cloth robes came in handy for trips to the outdoor hot tub. The hot tub was just the right temperature and again, clean. The charm of the Timberholm dovetails nicely with the warm hospitality of the chef/innkeeper. Val pulled out all the stops to make us feel better than at home . The yogurt breakfast parfaits, ginger bread pancakes, and bacon make the start of an awesome day. When we left early to get a jump on skiing, Val made sure that we had breakfast sandwiches to take along. Val also baked some treats for late day/evening enjoyment. Val is the epitome of "That Stowe Glow" which the area was once known for. I can't wait to get back to Timberholm Inn. Thank You!
I'll start with the positives The BnB was lovely from the outside as we arrived. We were attended to quickly at the desk. Our room was okay, small, but we were alright with it. The common area was beautifully furnished with warm colors. Television and games were available, along with a filled bookshelf for your reading enjoyment. The outside deck was comfortable, with chairs and tables. The yard was large, with lovely landscaping.
Now for the negatives Be aware if you have mobility issues. The parking area is quite small and it's graveled. There is a step to get to the entrance, which seemed a bit high. Another issue is that there are narrow steps, three I think, to get to the rooms on the first floor, with a door to deal with that pulls open or push to return to the desk and common area. Other than that, we were satisfied.
Lovely inn, between Stowe town and the mountain. It's very cozy, the breakfast is DELICIOUS and varied, the innkeeper is friendly, knowledgeable and lovely company. We are most certainly coming here again, whether for skiing, fall foliage or to get away in the summer!
Beautiful location, friendly hosts, good food, comfortable and cozy space. The rooms are small but offer everything you need. There's lots to do in the area, but I could just sit by the fireplace or take in the mountain views from the common area all day. The new managers take a lot of care and go above and beyond.
This was the greatest inn ever. Valarie is kind, fun and a fabulous cook. She makes an incredible breakfast, and her hospitality is above and beyond. We stayed over thanksgiving weekend, and she invited us to join them for thanksgiving dinner! It was delicious and more fun than I could have hoped for. The location is great, the common areas are delightful, the hot tub is hot and there is no reason not to book your next trip here. Enjoy!
We love this place! Just changed owners, the new ones are just as great as the previous ones! Great breakfast!
Wonderful experience. Great innkeeper, beautiful views, good breakfasts, great location, interesting fellow guests at this older ski lodge. We had a great time and will look forward to a return visit to Timberholm.
Stowe's a nice typical US mountain town and staying at Timberholm made it even better; excellent hosts and a sweet dog to keep the guests company during breakfast.
They have done everything they could to make it comfortable and homey. A little musty. I'd like to come back.
We rented the entire inn. Tom was great. Close to Stowe and the Alchemist.
Such a great bed and breakfast. The rooms were very nice and there were plenty of other options(tv room with games, hot tub). The breakfast was amazing and the resident dog was so cute!
An excellent little inn with excellent people running it. There's no question that this is an older building with thin walls and beds that have probably seen better times. If you want the best night's sleep of your life, you might consider heading elsewhere. This inn is best served for groups of people that want to hang out around an indoor fireplace playing some foozball or other games, or perhaps spend time in the hot tub, after being out and about in Stowe for the day. The Inn really shines in the common space it provides and in the incredible breakfast offered in the morning. We'll be back!
TimberHolm is our home away from home, our refuge. On a side road from the main road, it is a wonderfully charming and quiet place to unwind.
It's a great casual sports lodge to stay in any season for any active folks. Everything has a bit the rustic charm of antiquity, so don't expect any luxury but the decent place without worries of damaging anything. The owners are super friendly and make you feel like home.
For Stowe, this place is excellent value. A delicious breakkie is included.
great time , good breakfast almost like we were in our own home
