Usually a very quiet RV resort in Nov. This was busier than usual. There are many spots to choose that are not close to other campers.
The cabin I rented was comfortable and clean but was lacking. It did not have a full sized fridge and no freezer. I had to buy ice at $3.50 a bag each day. There was no stove with made cooking difficult and only 1 trash bag for the time I was there. The bathroom was spacious but no counter tops to put out personal items. The air conditioners were located right next to the couch and the bed making it hard to be comfortable with with air blowing directly on me.
The check in person was helpful and friendly but the store personnel were less than friendly. The people who operate the cafe did not show up on the day they were scheduled to so I didn't get to try it out before I left. Seems the store and the cafe hours were more suited for the employees rather than the guests.
Visiting during the week, there were no actives for adults except for a member generated water aerobics class. It was fun but because we could not find a copy of the weekly schedule, I only got to do that the last 2 days of my stay.
I felt as a Thousand Trails member, the price was way to high, especially for what I got.
This place is a breath of fresh air. Can't wait to go back again. Loved every minute of it.
If you like camping in spots that are way to close together, way to few bathrooms, and the ones who are there are broken and filthy, then this is the place for you. The park appears to be understaffed causing delays at check in and apparently not enough folks to keep the bathrooms clean and working. Also, at least one member of the staff we dealt with was very rude and disrespectful. I used to be a TT member but now remember why I dropped my membership. I won't be going back there again.
Awesome views, fresh facilities with showers, laundry, swimming pool, store and lodge. Spectacular hiking trails as well as riding trails .
Stayed here three weeks ago and already coming back tomorrow! Place is beautiful and the staff is awesome. They are so kind and helpful. They have everything you need to have a wonderful vacation! Lot's of hiking trails, and the place is so serene. We brought our dogs and they had a blast as well. Stores are close in case you forgot anything and there is so much more to see and do. Can't wait to again tomorrow, we are my mom for Mother's Day and I know she will love Thousand Trails Idyllwild too!
My favorite campground. Staff is awesome. The campground is clean, quiet, and safe.
Beautiful campground! Nicely maintained, nice sized spots, and great staff. They try to keep everyone safe; such as with their strict no wood fires policy. There are grills at every site for charcoal, as well as an adequate amount of bins for ash and hot coals collection for the sites to share.
The grounds are pet friendly, although the buildings are not. However most places have "puppy parking" so the furry ones are safe while you run into the store. Also there is a small dog park so the pups can play off leash.
There are horse facilities and services as well. You need to schedule ahead if you want to go riding with their horses. There is also a fishing pond and you can get a license at the store or welcome center.
Such a beautiful, wonderful place. It's the perfect family get away, with movies at night a shop and small restaurant near by. They also have a pool for the kids. I love it!!
