Really amazing, fresh fish and a variety of creative rolls. Some are pricey, but there's a wide range and the cheaper ones are also very good. They also have good entrees, including many vegetarian options.
Very good place for dinner. Extremely fast service and the food we ordered was really good except for the sushi rolls, they were super big chunks you could barely eat.
The ambiance is wonderful. The food is really good; I particularly like their offerings of sushi and sashimi. And to top it all off, there's live jazz playing Thursday to Sunday. Love the place.
Pretty good sushi but we were drunk and would have eaten rotten shark. First time visiting. Need more cycles to really understand their offerings. Diverse menu. Fast service. Live jazz was a pleasant surprise.
Awesome little place with some unique rolls. The jazz atmosphere was a bit at odds with the Asian focused menu but the live music was great. Overall the food was great and they had a decent tea selection. The diner type feel went with the jazz theme.
We stopped by for lunch and ordered a sushi roll and two Pad Thais. After almost finishing our pad thai our waiter brought out rolls for another table, so we asked about ours and asked to cancel the order. She insisted they were almost out then told us they were ready but she didn't know who they belonged to so she didn't bring them out. Overall pretty good food but customer service was severely lacking. Apart from that, their whole jazz ambiance is cool.
Very disappointing experience that easily could have been made better, but wasn't. Went with a group of 10 people for lunch. Two of the meals were not served until after everyone else had finished. On top of that, one of the orders was wrong and the server insisted it was right. Not clear why they would do that given it was pretty clear that was not the case. Then had to wait to get it as a to go order, and they still got it wrong. Not only did they refuse to take it off the bill, they charged an extra $.10 for the bag. Food is fine, service is terrible. Won't be doing any more work lunches there.
A great place, great food, however the majority of stuff wants to speed you up through the service and have you out of the way, to turn tables quickly. Some of them even a bit unprofessional. But the food is absolutely amazing, so it trumps the poorish service of some servers
The food and service is decent. Some nights they have live jazz performance which makes it a great dining experience!
I liked the sushi there, as well as the hot Saki, and jasmine tea. We ordered desert, banana roll. I didn't like the taste of baked banana in it, and the roll was too greasy and grilled.
This is my favorite restaurant in Cambridge. AMAZING food across the board, this place is much more than sushi; the cooked plates are insane. Great ambiance for a date or girls night, good drinks, live music. Best ever. Best best best.
Great sushi, interesting special, and fun scene. Come here any time you want to make your sushi night an experience.
Note: when it's packed, the lack of waiting area can cause problems. Expect lines at peak hours. Not a big enough issue to knock it down to just "Liked it" (4 stars).
The worst service I have ever had. They knocked down my coat from my chair, laughed at it and walked away. The stuff we're very rude when taking ordersand when they trying to ask a favor from us to move our table, so they can make more room for new group of guests, they roughly moved our table while we were not ready, we were getting food from our plates.really ruined the reputation of the restaurant ~~heard this was a great restaurant??? The worst!!!
Disclaimer: bit of a sushi snob. The place was small and quaint. Food was good, just not up to par as the best ones I've been to. But still good. Got the boat that was a little over a hundred and all four people were full to the brim. I need to check out the jazz scene behind the curtain and restaurant. If you get sat by the window, you'll get an uncomfortable sunken bench.
Everything we had here was delicious. The croquettes were incredible. The sushi is tasty but you'll need an appetizer or two, or an entree to feel full. Definitely recommend the fairytale sushi. Even their drinks were pretty.
The atmosphere was cozy and they have live jazz---check their sites for official times for performers.
It's expensive but worth the splurge now and then!
Take it from a Southeast Asian: the highest praise I can give to an Asian establishment in Boston is that I have not quite found its equal in the Bay Area :) Or at least, no establishment here matches its convenient location (relative to me), price point, extensive (and inventive) (and tasty!!) selection and quality of food. Thelonious was my go-to for satisfying grub all throughout my 4 years at MIT, and this did not change even with the opening of H-mart and associated eateries. In particular I highly recommend the green curry with roasted duck.
NB: While authenticity is not exactly the selling point here, western touches in the dishes (like cranberry salmon) work well and probably suit the clientele better anyway.
