A dependable place to dine or have a drink. On the square in Hammondsport, this restaurant has a great wine selection and an equally impressive beer list. My companions open face Rueben was large and tasty. My Chicken Curtis sandwich was great. The bacon on it was perfectly done as was the chicken breast. A very nice combo of chicken, bacon, BBQ sauce and cheese.

Went here for a coffee and we were very disappointed. First answer was: no, we don't serve coffee, but corrected: Well, no espresso, no cappuccino, no etc, just an Americano. We were quite surprised because the restaurant is of decent size + big food menu and we expected at least some nice coffee items on the menu. Asked for a small Americano, but we got a coffee in a large mug, filled to the top. It was watery brewed coffee. Finally, we were charged more than 7.50 for 2 coffees which we found very very pricey for what we got.

Good local restaurant. Seafood dishes were all really tasty. Service was good and attentive. Prices are a little on the high side. Our only complaint is there were a lot of flies on the outdoor patio, but that is something you always gamble on with outdoor seating.

Love this place! Consistently great. Amazing wine and beer list. Friendly service. Very farm to table. Historic atmosphere. Can't wait to go back. Over 25 years of exceeding our expectations!

Decent place to have a meal in Hammondsport that's been around for quite a while. The menu hasn't changed much the few years I've been visiting. It's seafood-heavy but they have something for everyone. If anything they've removed items and not replaced them. You get beer bread with every order which I enjoy. On weekends they have a piano player with live music and it really adds to the atmosphere. They're also accommodating of requests for modifications of the menu items. Service can be slow sometimes and it will take a while to get refills. I recommend a visit if you're in the area.

This was my second time going to The Village Tavern Restaurant & Inn and I've loved the ahi tuna wrap both times. Food and service is wonderful and it makes for a great stop before heading up for wine tastings at the nearby wineries!

First time at the restaurant and we weren't disappointed! Great food, wide variety of drinks, good service, and easy parking. Will definitely stop there again!

The atmosphere is nice. Cozy and a little dark on the inside with paraphernalia on the walls. When I've been there seems to be a gentleman playing the piano and it really adds to the atmosphere. Not too loud and he's a great musician. The food is hit-or-miss. I've had the chicken wings which I enjoy (particularly the golden sauce) and the complimentary beer bread is great. The French onion soup has been inconsistent and tastes like they didn't fully burn off wine (if they use that). Several guests had dishes involving chicken (Pompeii and chicken parmesan) and they were quite bland. The chicken was a bit overcooked and has no taste to it. The service was overall good for a busy night if not a tad bit inconsistent.

Quaint, rustic inn with a dining area oozing with warmth and class. Dinner prices aren't cheap, but the fish fry special I had may have been the best I ever had. I will go again for a special occasion for sure.

A long time favorite. Good food. It may have lost it's edge a bit but still worth a stop. Good regular and craft beer selection.
