  First glance you might overlook this little gem, but don't! I had one of the best Rubens of my life there, not too mention some good beer. Great location on the river with a very friendly staff. We loved it.

  Beautiful location, right next to the river, outdoor seating. German fare was absolutely horrible! Wiener schnitzel had been deep fried in the frier (too long, so it was dark brown). It was advertised with a side dish of potato salad by waiter, but came with mashed potato, (no gravy), raw cold sauerkraut on top, and cold red kraut on the side! And all this for 'only $18'.
  Tried to find the cook who prepares such horrible, despicable food-but to no avail
  I know what German Food tastes like, and this was not even close! Stay away!

  My wife and I had lunch at Troll Tavern in Helen, GA three weeks ago. We were touring around the north Georgia mountains and stopped for a visit in Helen. We've visited the Troll Tavern before and knew the food was good.
  
  It was a cold weekend day, so we asked to be seated inside. There no one on the terrace which seemed prudent given the temperature. Unfortunately, the noise level in the restaurant was WAY too loud to hear normal conversation. We shouted at each other for a few minutes and then asked to be moved outside to the terrace. It was cold but better than trying to eat inside.
  
  We both had the Reuben here previously, and it didn't disappoint. It was EXCELLENT. It's hard to find a good Reuben, but this place nails it every time. A lot of restaurants let the Reuben sit and get soggy from the sauerkraut, and that ruins it. My Reuben was crisp and loaded with corned beef and Swiss cheese and was served with a side of German mashed potato salad.
  
  So if you love a good Reuben, you should give this place a try the next time you're in Helen, GA.

  Where do I begin. First, putting my name on the list for 45 Min first Waite them to be skipped over. Finally get seated. Waite another 45 for cold food. Manager non sympathetic and waitress the same. Never going back!!! Strongly recommend to skip this place when in Helen. One positive is good beer.

  Food was exactly as expected. Good quality for the price. The service was quick and friendly. It was nice to look over the river while eating. We went for lunch so there was no wait. We were in and out. Ignore the bad reviews - I'm glad we did.

  Our post tubing lunch usually takes place on the opposite side of the river and I'm glad we decided to give this place a try. Food came out lightning quick. You can't go wrong with the sweet chicken Thai wraps. The chicken tasted as though it had been marinated the night before in the same sauce they cook with and didn't last long on our plates. Great views of the river and all the shenanigans we just went through. This place is good to go.

  Great casual place to relax and enjoy the river. My wife had the Ruben and potatoes were really good. I had the combo and the red cabbage was so good. The hostess was nice and our server Zach was funny. I would recommend this place.

  Nice place to relax and have a quick bite to eat by the river. The food was good. My husband had the combo and I loved the red cabbage. I had the Ruben which was very good. Our server Zach was very personable. I would recommend checking out the Troll Tavern.

  This was our first time eating here and I highly recommend it!!! We sat outside right beside the river and it was so relaxing. The service was amazing!! The food was the best we had out of everywhere we ate on vacation. We go to the mountains every year and have found our favorite place to eat. Great job to everyone that works there!! Awesome!!

  Nice place if the weather is nice, you can see the river from the terrace. Service is good and staff is nice. Only came in to drink some coffee last time and waiter was a little too pushy to sell some food as well. Don't do that.

  Had the nacho wrap .. Very good.. Service was good and being right next to the flowing creek is nice. Helen is a nice cozy spot

  Our waitress, "Brooke", was on wonderful! You could cut The smoothered Chicken will a fork. Great place to eat!!
