Prime Rib is amazing. Best in Columbus by far. The Long island iced tea is also amazing.
Old school steakhouse. Everything here is five stars, from food to service to bustling crowd. Be sure to get there early to get a seat at the piano bat.
Food was excellent! Very busy restaurant. Went at 10 pm on a Friday night and they were packed. Waited at the bar about 30 minutes for a table and had one drink while waiting. No skimping on the alcohol here! Great drink and the food was well worth the wait!
The Top is a Columbus staple with a rich history. There is live piano music played and the atmosphere almost makes you forget it's 2017 more like the 1950's or 60's. The service varies but everyone is friendly. They have a nice steak selection and the potatoes au gratin is our favorite side with beautifully fresh broccoli. Great spot to have a very nice dinner oh and they have an excellent creme brule
Quaint and cozy with excellent food. Very pricey but the food is divine. Very old school. But I loved the history. Piano player and singer. But the regulars joined in. Not a trendy or hip place for the millennials.
Probably the best "chop house" anywhere. Has been in same location for almost 70yrs. When they "remodeled" several years ago, thankfully they didn't change ANYTHING in the main dining room. Spectacular veal chop (ask for extra seasoning) and where else can you find a 20 OUNCE cold water lobster tail!
Been going to the TOP since 1979. The service today was unbelievably outstanding. Connie our server was amazing. She heard we were celebrating our 50th anniversary and the management treated us to a wonderful chocolate dessert. Connie then had Sonya the sweetest piano player around invited us to the piano bar where she and her singers played some great songs from the past. The TOP is still the greatest romantic atmosphere with the nicest people in Columbus. Thanks for a great time.
The food was good. My wife had the petite filet that was cooked to perfection along with whipped potatoes that were silky smooth and delicious. I had the KC bone-in strip steak that had a great char on it but was cooked more on the rare side than the medium-rare requested.
However, the service was the worst I've received at a restaurant at this price level. We had reservations for 6:45pm and upon arriving we were told that they were running 15-20 minutes behind and that we could wait at the bar as we proceeded to watch other parties get seated. From there, we were then seated within 3 feet of the women's restroom and literally against the fireplace and person seated directly behind us, to the point where our chairs were jammed against each other.
The waiter was kind but clearly preoccupied with the large party next to us. It took probably 15-20 minutes after we were seated to even receive bread, let alone place a drink order. The rest of the night followed the same kind of tempo. And not that I expected it or felt entitled to it, but we left a note on our reservation that it was my birthday and proceeded to watch the table next to us have a nice birthday dessert experience while we never had anything but a slow experience with no dessert. We arrived at 6:40 and left at 9:00pm for a salad, steaks, and drinks. I'd rather have $150 and 2.5 hours of my life back than repeat the experience.
Amazing!
Not for chain restaurant fans On that note, unless you have an open mind and are willing to be in the moment Save someone a space that is.
Splendidly prepared main courses, quality bar, and Rat Pack atmosphere. One dines here for meat and seafood. A bit on the pricey side but generally worth it.
Best steaks anywhere in Columbus! Actually, best steaks anywhere in America I have eaten. Love the atmosphere and the staff is always awesome. Every special occasion we eat there.
The food was awesome, I got the lamb. so good. The atmosphere was cool(as described on their website). The waiter was alright. It was expensive, but again the food was awesome. I would go there again for sure.
Honest evaluation: The wait was very long after ordering the food, probably 30 minutes at least. The waiter was nice, but i didn't feel like he was dedicated to my satisfaction. However, when the food arrived, it was perfect and exactly as ordered. The Filet Mignon was amazing with a great seasoning, and not dry at all. The green beans were pretty crunchy, and not the best I've had. Overall, a pretty good dining experience.
