Very small bathroom, bed is so soft and lacking support that your hips end up a foot below your neck at night. All these things don't bother me but I have to hear about them from my wife non stop.

It's the off season, but we still really enjoyed our stay. This place is really cozy, and has more character than your run-of-the-mill chain hotel. It felt more like we were staying at a friend's home. We can't wait to return during the summer months and get to try the restaurant!

You check out when you like.but you can never leave?
I thought I was staying at the hotel California!
Bar staff was unfriendly.
Door to my room was stuck. Had to crawl out the window to leave! Called the officeThey seemed like it was a normal thing to do.
I'd not recommend.
Move along.there is nothing to see here.

Good location off of A1A. Partial ocean views. Outdoor seating is very casual. Great food and the staff is outstanding. Remodeling in process should only make the experience better.

Quaint and with a partial view of the ocean. Great place as a watering hole. I casual venue to have a drink or two with a friend or lover.

Good ambiance, beyond that horrible. Food is blah, service is horrible. Server was video recording Elvis for 10 minutes, so naturally food arrived cold, fries soggy, inattentive (never asked how the food was) , the special didn't have half the items it was supposed to no way I'd ever come back

Great local hang out. You can watch a game, hear live music or just chill out with friends, all while enjoying some really good food. Mostly outdoor seating with tables and umbrellas. Some covered seating in case it rains. all open air. Fun experience.

Atmosphere was nice, with live music and outdoor seating. Food was not so good, and way overpriced. Ordered "mild" wings which were way too hot for my wife (I enjoy spicy food but these were way too hot for a mild I ate two and my mouth was on fire), and the flavor was not enjoyable just hot. Shrimp appetizer was mediocre at best. Nachos we're horrible. Really the only decent thing was the grilled cheese sandwich my daughter ordered. Maybe we ordered the wrong type of food, but my family left hungry (except for my daughter!). It was a fun time though, just dissapointed in the food.

Outdoor seating and live music are hard to beat. Good is good to when visiting the area. Seafood is always what we enjoy.

We come here almost every year when we come to Fernandina Beach for our annual family vacation. We have made a lot of memories here. Our food was delicious and Peggy, our server, was amazing. She talked to us and made us feel like we come there all the time. Thank you for another great time at The Surf.

Hostess was good, parking lot was small and building run down. We were seated in the direct sun with 2 four person tables and only one umbrella with outside seating only. I had to ask 4 times for a different table or another umbrella (each time with a poor result including from the manager). I took it upon myself to rectify the problem by taking another table that was empty sitting right next to us. The food was mediocre at best, greasy and unappetizing looking, and the service was worse, shrimp and oysters very greasy. We had to continue to ask for drink refills and had to ask for silverware, most of which was dirty when it was delivered. Our server just kept walking by us without checking or even looking in or direction. A manager from the back of the house came out and said he would take care of the problem and offered a discount on the meal. I received or $143 check with an 18% gratuity added, and no discount. Our waitress argued that that was how they did business. I told her to remove the gratuity or send out the manager (the same one with the attitude about the umbrella came out). The manager removed the tip and gave a small discount.

I was told by a few local residents that this was the goto place, great food and service. I am very disappointed in our treatment. I'm giving only a one star rating based on the service, and would give less if I could. If I go back too this restaurant, it won't be for a very long time.

Hostess was horrible. Waitress was good.
Live band was great as were the bar drinks.
I had the crab cakes and they were fairly good. I'm from Charleston, SC though so if you want to impress me with food you're going to have to come correct.
Overall I'd say I'd go back but probably only for drinks and music.

Great place for food and beer. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Good old family type establishment. The food was fresh and well prepared. The beer was wet and cold very welcoming in the Florida sun. Visited from Scotland and I would recommend it to friends.
