My husband and I stopped by while driving down to Miami. We ordered the blackened basa and shrimp platter and the fried food appetizer (we choose fried squash, onion rings, and green tomatoes). The fish was super fresh and the spices very tasty on the shrimp! I was so pleasantly surprised with the fried foods, as well. You can actually taste the vegetables (fruit in the case of the tomatoes) and the oil was fresh. Staff was very friendly, too! You can sit inside or outside with your dog as we did. A+++ restaurant! I would recommend this place for anyone stopping by Jacksonville or for the locals!
Great seafood with friendly service and patrons! I went back to back days it was so good. What it lacks in decor is overcompensated for with flavor and deliciousness! The prices are on point too! See you tomorrow, Junior's, for day 3.
A hidden treasure of north side Jacksonville. Nothing fancy about the building or decor, but the food is great! The prices are very good for the quality and service. Fast service for the lunch crowd to go or dine in. The parking lot is small but additional parking is available on both sides of the side street. Daily and weekly specials available
We are visiting the Jacksonville area and wanted seafood. After an extensive search on the internet we found the best reviews were for Junior’s Seafood so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed! The women working there were super friendly and made us feel right at home. I had the seafood gumbo as an appetizer and the shrimp and grits for my dinner. Both were amazing! The gumbo had just the right amount of spice with a good portion of everything in it. The shrimp and grits was a huge portion with jumbo shrimp! So yummy.
My boyfriend had the pick two and chose deviled crab and grilled shrimp with baked potato, coleslaw, and hush puppies. I had to try his and it didn’t disappoint either. Delicious!
Very sad this place is so far from home, otherwise we would be regulars!
Thanks so much for a delicious meal and such wonderful customer service!
Great place to dine. The freshness of the seafood combined with the affordability makes for a great deal. I had the fried gator tail and blackened salmon. Additionally, the staff is extremely hospitable.
The meal was great. The sweet potato fries were better than I expected. The crab cakes and flounder we're really good and the shrimp (blackend) we're both plentiful and seasoned perfectly. The wait staff was wonderful and very helpful in helping decide what to eat.
Junior's is the place to go where you really are "treated like family". The food is always delicious and cooked the way you ordered. We have eaten there for years and have never been disappointed. ☺️👍
Wait staff was great. Blackened shrimp was average. Crab cakes were different but good and big, the dipping sauce was great. Alligator tail was delicious.
Found this place accidentally and loved it! The fried shrimp was cooked perfectly and the hush puppies were crisp, fresh and slightly sweetdelicious! Also the service was fantastic. There was one young lady working who was exceptional, it really made my day to have her be so kind and sweet to us. Would have given the place five stars except the green beans were almost too salty to eat and there was a dead bug on our booth seat. Other than that, fantastic!
We had captains platter for 2 it very well could have fed 4 people, it was really good. Next time I'm back in town I will definitely stop in and eat. All in all it was good.
What a great place to eat! The food was terrific, the employees were friendly and the atmosphere was definitely "down home."
"Easily the best seafood restaurant on the northside. It is a hole in the wall place. The seafood is all reasonably priced, the alligator tail is great, and the servings are very generous." - Ansel Ponce Diama
Amazing local food. Staff are polite and friendly. We got the gator, oysters, and shrimp. All were fantastic but we all agreed the gator was the best. Will be returning again in the near future.
Should called the COPS !!!! They charged another $5 after I left with my wife. Found out a day later! It is self service no waitresses. So ya. The seasoning of the food is bland to say the least I suggest 7 Seas or hip hop chicken for a better quality seafood.
