Very nice place! Excellent views of the city and good service. They have very few vegetarian options. They claim to be a seasonal restaurant, so I hope they add more vegetarian options the next time they change their menu. Vegan pasta (pasta made out of zucchini and carrots) looked incredible but tasted okay! Brownie points for the idea.
One of the best things I've ever done with free time. You don't have to eat to go up there, I had to pay $8 once, great deal! The food is quite expensive but if you're not expecting that then this isn't your environment. Great 360 degree views from the 72 floor (the building is 723ft tall) so that's somewhere above 700ft. 100% recommend. Unless you eat you only have 1 interaction with staff, if you're worried about them being 'stuck-up'. They were very nice to me though, greeting me and asking how things were in perfect timings.
I loved all the food and appetizers and the atmosphere. Bummer that the Sun Dial restaurant no longer rotates due to a horrific but one-off accident. (Doesn't seem like a place to bring children anyway) The rotating platform was what made it iconic, center in downtown Atlanta. It kind of mellowed out my evening. Certain seats are without a view at all now. I'd still dine with them for the food and service, but somehow I feel like I could get the same at any other fine dining establishment now.
Excellent service! First class experience. I hosted a seminar and took all 52 guests to the Sun Dial after the event. They absolutely loved the food, the view, and the customer service. Alp and his team did an exceptional job making sure all of our needs were met. The restaurant gets my highest recommendation.
The food is great. You're paying a lot for the ambience though. Our server was absolutely amazing. The bread that they brought before the meal was perfect. I ordered the New York strip and wife had the salmon. Both were great. However, the sundial isn't a steak house and I've had better strip for less. That isn't the reason you go. You go for the view and the experience and they delivered. We were there when the sun went down and it was gorgeous. This place is a must visit if only for the bar. I hope they get it spinning again soon.
This place is overrated! If your going for a nice view of Atlanta great!! Only thing is now the restaurant isn't spinning at the moment , due to an incident that took place a few months ago. I made reservations and still nothing was mentioned about the spinning , it's not even on the website. Regardless, they failed to inform me of the restaurant not being fully operational and plus the food was horrible! If you wanna to have a cocktail in a nice atmosphere with a wonderful view it's fine. Food not so much and everything is overpriced.
Such an amazing experience. We tried the White chocolate specialty drink. It's not as strong as we wanted it but the waitress picked up on that and provided an additional shot. We love how much she anticipated our needs. Great service . Thanks Sundial
So I looked at the website and we had planned on having lunch here after conducting business downtown in the morning. When we got to the Sundial there was a big sign "sorry we are closed for today""!
Total fail since we are only here until tomorrow. Thanks for not updating your website and letting people know. We ended up having lunch somewhere else. So a heads up, call and make sure they are actually open before you end up standing in front of closed doors!!!
Really a 3.5, but I rounded up. The restaurant rotates and gives great views of Atlanta. The service was outstanding too. But the food is not amazing, good for sure. Just not amazing. Of course I ate a bacon cheeseburger with parmesan fries. So maybe there full dinner meals are better. The burger was tasty but the fries where pretty plain. Expect an expensive meal with a good view and service.
I took my husband here for his 40th birthday. The views were amazing! We took advantage and ordered the crab cake appetizer, salad, two different main courses and dessert. I must say we enjoyed every course on that menu. The Caesar salad had the best in-house salad dressing. The crab cakes were fresh and fulfilling. The steak was so tender and cooked to perfection, and our hazelnut moose was delicious. As the room spins, I did notice that there were a few areas where the room temperature was colder than other areas. This at times became uncomfortable. We also noticed that our food was never piping hot. It seemed like the cool airy room caused our food to be served warm. (but still tasty). Our waiter's name was Jeff and he offered great customer service . From time to time he would come back to our table to give us a little history of Atlanta that correlates with the view we were watching. This made for good conversion. Overall, My husband was very pleased on his special day and we will come back and bring our friends and family.
This takes a little getting used to. To start out your experience, you will feel exclusive getting past the two people at the desk which stands guard of the elevator, that takes you 723 ft up to the restaurant (make a reservation). We went at night and it was beautiful. The waitress was really nice and explained what certain buildings were when we asked (as the restaurant rotates and you will see a complete panoramic view within 45min-1hr). The only reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars is because the food is incredibly pricey but not incredibly delicious. It was good and nothing was over cooked, but it did not blow us away and in fact, disappointed some expectations by lacking in flavor. The other reason was because getting a reservation was a hassle. I called a total of 5 times within a week because they couldn't get my reservation of 3 people correct the first time and since they require a credit card on file and WILL charge you a $25.00 cancelation fee PER PERSON if you cancel without 24hr notice, I wanted to ensure that they had the correct number of people in my party. I guess I could understand if they were busy but we went on a Saturday night and it was dead (so how busy could they have been Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc at 12pm when I was calling them on my lunch break to make the reservation?). Having said that though, this is a very beautiful restaurant, amazing view, excellent staff but average food for a hefty price.
This place always impresses. Their food pushes boundaries of thought but is always a superb combination of flavors that leave you stunned.
Then there is the view: stupendous! I'm partial because I think ATL is a pretty city but the rotating restaurant and bar really make for a spectacular environment. Of course the glass exterior elevator is a major hit too.
Lastly the service here has always been top notch for me, definitely fitting of the price of fare
